Help choosing dining table and chairs please

Hi
We're about to start work on our new kitchen, dining area and living room. I have attached a plan of the layout. We are going for matt handleless dark grey units with a white quartz worktop and an oak breakfast bar. The flooring is a 'weathered oak' floorboard. The bifolds shown on oak and we also have a glass roof above the dining room area with an oak frame. I have attached a picture from Houzz showing our inspiration for the kitchen area, we are probably going to purchase the lights shown for above the breakfast bar and select bar stools which are as similar to the Hay ones shown as we can afford! I have also attached an image of the couches we have just purchased for the lounge area. I would like the whole area to flow and will be sticking to a wood and monochrome (well black, white and grey) colour palette. I plan to paint all the walls white. I am struggling with dining furniture options. My husband would like to go industrial but I think this is perhaps out of sync with everything else. I like the Eames chairs but feel like everyone has them now - do I go with them as a design classic? Any help and new ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks

Comments (4)I think the DSW chairs would look great but I agree they seem to be everywhere now so it's hard to justify the price tag for something which isn't very unique (and essentially just plastic). You mentioned mid century. Have you considered auctions/gumtree. You can pick up a set of original mid century chairs very cheaply if you hunt for them. Comments (7)Hi, I would suggest warming up the space using a wooden dinning table. It sounds like you have a minimalist looking kitchen, so a warm wood would look great against the clean lines, white and grey. You could also add white Eames chairs like the ones below to go with the white kitchen units. 9 years agoYes, they could be well be as you've said. I'd probably pair them with a wooden table, a low hanging pendant and sit it all on a rug to warm it up. Something similar to this although clearly the wrong chair! I was just trying to think of something that will suit you both!

9 years agoI like options 1 and 2. If I'm honest, option 3 just wouldn't seem to do the rest of the space justice to my mind but that's just personal taste. Have you also thought of mixing a different style/period table with eames chairs or even mixing different eames chairs? The images i've found aren't quite what I had in mind but gives you an idea.
