Need help on wall colours to complement these curtains!
Comments (13)Stunning effect for small rooms is a good idea, it will make forget the room is small! ;-) According to this, i would paint one wall dark (black, steel grey, night blue or dark brown) and do the same with the drawer chest. Then you can go for any headboard : neutral color fabric, plain deep red or jade green or golden fabric(this last one looks stunning on any dark wall), wood or bamboo headboard but with a simple shape if you look for a zen atmosphere , or for a statement a really oriental shape one in red or golden ! I know it seems hard, but going till the end of your ideas ( the oriental look of the curtains) will improve the curtains and the all room. Comments (3)Hi, We have some great advice on brightening rooms and colour schemes. As we can see from the photos you already have quite a neutral room colour, although the red may be darkening the room a little with the contrast of the dark furniture. How about lightening the room by getting rid of the red wall feature and carrying on with the neutral theme. Also by using lighter accessories (cream curtains) this will lighten your room. If you want to add more colour we suggest doing this through the use of accessories such as cushions and throws. Comments (53)Well the walls have been repainted at last. And the winner was....................... F&B Cromarty! Second was Mizzle, but it looked a little too dark in my north facing room, but it was a close contender. Thank you all for your brilliant advice. We both love the colour, and you can see how different it is in various areas. Comments (2)I tend to see coving as part of the ceiling. That's not to say it can't look more dramatic if painted in a different or even contrasting colour, but I would normally decide to paint it in the same colour as the ceiling. This is ours painted white, with the walls in Skimmed Stone (Farrow & Ball). Even though the coving is painted with the same paint as the ceiling (which makes life a little easier as well) it still appears to have a different shade of white, which is nice imo....See MoreJenny West
