Help needed picking white wood stain for wooden floor

I am decorating a loft conversion which has a new wooden floor, I want a white washed look (not a solid white paint) for the floorboards, can anybody recommend a good quality, hardwearing stain, wax, paint etc. which would also be easily maintained and not chip or damage easily. Thanks

Sadolin superdec may be what you are after but beware, a weathered look is a specialist finish. You cAnt really buy "weathered" it is after all an effect.

I would say just give whatever you are using one coat, which would more than likely give it a worn look but it's not really a practical idea as when it's needs recoating it will give a stronger colour

Alternatively give it a watery coat then varnish it to protect it

In theory if it's a floor paint it should be able to handle the moisture. I would recommend an oil top coat just to make sure but I'm confident as long as it's a genuine floor paint moisture won't be a problem. It's a lot of work if you want to strip the floor boards etc but my real concern is the finish as it wouldn't exactly be waterproof

I'm also decorating our bedroom along British Colonial lines (as much as I can without the tropical climate anyway!) I'm going to have blue accessories along with the white. This was traditional along with the botanical elements as the blue and white oriental china was really popular back then. For inspiration on Houzz, you can type in "Plantation Style" which has a lot of similar elements. "Campaign Furniture" would be another search to try. Also, Laura Ashley Balmoral furniture in Chestnut has the right elements (dark wood with antique brass corners and drawer pulls). Photo below shows bed similar to yours.

I tested white porcelain with bright pink hair dye when I bought them for my kitchen and the dye just wiped off. In 7 years the white tiles have never stained. I've dropped a Le Crueset cast iron pan lid and the lid got damaged but not a mark on the tile. I've had some small chips at the edges when furniture has been moved over them but it is minimal damage and the furniture should have been lifted rather than scrapped across the floor. You can buy full bodied porcelain which where the colour of the tile is right throughout the whole tile and if you get chips, you should not see a variation in colour. I love porcelain and would not use ceramic after having it. The best place to go for it, is your local independent tile retailer, rather than the big stores like Topps and Tile Giant. Not all tilers are keen on fixing them it because they are harder to cut and drill than ceramics and they need diamond blades and bits which cost more. They are well worth the investment though.

Use diluted oil based undercoat with a rag to get colour you want. Then any clear non yellowing product. I have also used diluted emultion paint sucessfully.
