What color of wallpaper and curtains should we go for?!

We just bought this bedroom and as our room is freshly painted off-white, we thought of having wallpaper behind the bed. Should we? What color u think will work with this double-tone bedroom? Plz note that this puc is from the website, our room is all off-white at the moment. Thank you in advance!!

I would add a wallpaper. I think maybe a mauve, pale blue or green would be nice with some coordinated accessories. What colour is the flooring? The 1st is by Cole and Son. The 2nd is Thibaut (they do this in various colours but could only find a good image in brown). It's difficult without knowing your taste!

If you enjoy following current trends, maybe have a look at Pantone colour for 2015 Marsala, or something similar as a base colour for a wallpaper. This would certainly complement the existing earthy browns and neutrals.

I would suggest a slub textured raw silk in the the pale coffee/beige colour of the wallpaper with an interlining for a really luxurious look and have the curtains cover the whole window wall when closed and only expose the glazed section when open. You could use a pole at a very high level or have a shaped pelmet to reveal the lovely window detail.........see attached photos

Hi, This is a beautiful wallpaper choice! Answering your question I wouldn't advice to go with any colour shade from the wallpaper - either grey or green or even gold for the rest of the walls - simply because it will be too obvious. You have beautiful sofa - as I can see from the photos this colour is close to rustic red with an orange hue. What I would choose being you, and what would compliment your whole colour scheme including curtains choice is: https://www.farrow-ball.com/paint-colours/sulking-room-pink which will go very well with your wallpaper, curtains, sofa and carpet. You simply need something which will blend together heavy sofa, curtains and elegant wallpaper. I wouldn't also use the colour similar to the colour of your sofa as it will look too heavy. It has to be something, which is light in weight and is connecting elegantly with your wallpaper choice and connect to sofa at the same time. If you leave sofa not connected to the colour of the wall it will look as you left a separate piece of furniture in the room. With the colour choice I sent you as an example your room will look stylish and warm at the same time. You can then add a warm grey wool blanket (hand crafted ideally) and mixed cushions matched to the colour of curtains, also a bit of grey too.

Hi again, I think the best bet would be to pick out the blue/green for behind the stove, otherwise you will always have a vertical cream / grey stripe breaking the wall up. You could always wallpaper across the enitire wall and put a piece of clear glass behind the stove (screwed not glued), which would tie in with your glass hearth. Another option would be to have an enamel heat shield made for behind the stove in the blue / green colour. The same colour could be used for the wall behind the sofa whch would contrast well, then paint the other walls in one of the cream shades. It sounds as if you have plenty of light being south facing, so it should be OK. The inset photograph illustrates an enamel heat shield.
