Have you used Cheam Windows and how did you find them?

I'd like to get (really nice) new windows for my house in SE London. These are looking good www.cheamwindows.co.uk but - in line with all window companies I have visited - they don;t want to give references from real people. Would appreciate any comments from someone who has used them.

I would like to say if a company won't give you references from previous companies I would be very wary.
We always give details of previous customers to new potential customers and we are a member of checkatrade.com where all our customers leave feedback on us which can be searched online.

Good afternoon Vincent, We are more than happy to give references of real people to our new potential customers (with the previous customers approval). We are also a member of Checkatrade, and we have real review on our Facebook page. I understand this is a late reply but I have just set up a Houzz account!

I love both but it depends on the property and the overall style of the house. I am about to embark on a renovation project of a 1970s house and I’m looking to completely transform the exterior with render and change the windows to sashes, I don’t know where to start so any advice by sash window experts is welcome!

I have decided that shutters/venetian blinds make rooms darker, gather dust and are fairly 'heavy' to look at, so, not for me. All others options are quite ok according to the situation of the property and personal taste. However, if you yourself like shutters or venetian blinds, then they are ok too, just don't expect me to have them. All boils down to he/she who pays the piper calls the tune.

Hi Cat. I hope this helps - rather than reproduce it here, we've written a series of blogs, hints and tips around this subject, and one of the links is below - it sounds like you are already well down the line, so you'll just refer to the relevant bits. Suffice to say that if you have the time, you can do this yourself. I've always found it best (both as a home owner and as a professional) to engage directly with a number of local contractors and to meet them on site to make sure they really understand the requirement before they price the work (things like access, skip locations and so on they will need to know); I would not trust this to an on-line process. There is no substitute for personal contact where you not only have the opportunity to explain any issues directly, you will also get a feel for the contractor with which you can work best. Part of this selection process is in listening to each contractor's thoughts which are often useful. I had the same problem with streaks and white marks on my windows after cleaning. I discovered the solution in an article on https://www.fortador-usa.com/blog/best-professional-window-cleaning-tools-window-cleaner-suppliers about professional window cleaning tools offered by window cleaner suppliers. There is also a lot of information on working with steam cleaners, which are extremely effective at cleaning windows. I recommend to take a look.

We were very happy with the work, the quality of the product and the service received. We had 9 windows replaced 4 years ago and no problems at all.
