Can I fully tile a bathroom which was half -tiled 10 years ago?

I have a shower-room with lovely shimmery white wall tiles, which I still love 10 years after choosing them. I rergret not getting the room fully tiled at the time, only half tiled.
The room is still in good condition and most of the fittings etc look llike new. I'd like to get it fully tiled now and can still source the tile design, might separate the old from the new with a border tile as an all white box would be too clinical. Can we do the 2nd half of the tiling now (10 yrs later) or will it be obvious top and bottom half not done at the same time? Would the current grout need replaced or could it just be grouted over to ensure a match? Would it even be a problem?

Comments (7)You should always do a watered down mist coat on new plaster. We used the dulux trade matte diamond paint from a dulux mixing centre. Whilst it is brilliant for being able to wipe stuff off it I would say it had more of a sheen to it then I wanted so wouldn't recommend for ceilings. Comments (1)I would like to respectfully disagree with #4 - concrete is very tolerant to heat, however many of the available sealing options are. Though they've come a long way from 15-20 years ago. As well, I would add a water resistant additive to the concrete while mixing as well as glass fiber to minimize any future cracking. Comments (21)Update:- I'm looking at whether we can move the wood burner so we could put the dining area where the lounge is, which would increase the bathroom/utility room inside the house by another 4'4 wide x 7'1 . Also means we don't have to build a side extension just for the extra porch etc thus saving us money! Fingers crossed it can work, but this is the space that we would have to play with to split the bathroom and utility now. I've allowed for more hallway space where it recesses to the right to accommodate coat/shoe storage How would you split this down now? Comments (31)Hi Kate - we have two bathrooms and both have wired-in LED mirrors, and they’re great! The first one came from Bathstore years ago. We liked it so much that we bought a second one for our en-suite. The second one came from an online company called Pebble Grey, and we chose one with a small cupboard built in. It’s a godsend - it stores a surprisingly large amount of stuff that I seem to accumulate!!! I think one of good possibilities would be to use mosaic on the boarder of new and old.
For example to make horizontal mosaic stripe and mosaic mirror frame.
As for grouting masters certainly would find the way to make it equal.
