Dark chocolate and caramel digestives are pretty special and I've gone mad for macaroons lately, though not sure they count as a biscuit...?

Has to be It's a Wonderful Life. We've watched it every year for 40 at least, much to my childrens disgust, but last year my daughter really got it for the first time, so maybe this means you have to be a grown-up to fully understand what is so wonderful about it. A film that really makes you value what you have and realise that how you live is much more important than all the riches in the world.

Debanger3, yes, pigs in blankets are sausages wrapped in bacon. It's usually smaller sausages but can be larger. They are sometimes also drizzled with a little Worcestershire sauce and honey before they are baked in the oven but everyone has their own preferred way of doing them, with or without additional flavours. They are traditionally served with roast turkey at Christmas. And are often what you are given (with other nibbles) at drinks parties. We built an extension on our last house (3 storey 1850's victorian town house). Most of the new back wall was a bifolding sliding oak door. We were happy with them and they looked good but we rarely had them open all the way. For this reason we have decided not to have them again in our new house. This time we are opting for 3 sets of french doors similar to the house in the picture above. There are some advantages over the folding sliding doors. It allows the wall space to be used in between each set of doors. It looks nicer in my opinion and you could curtain the 3 sets of doors if you wish. There was no point putting curtains on a folding sliding door because you would end up with a whole wall of fabric which wouldn't look great so we lost our privacy. By the way our new house is a ugly 1955 build. We are trying to make it look traditional with an exterior makeover.

Lotus biscuits. I'm not a big biscuit eater although love them but I could literally eat a packet of these dunked in tea in one sitting!

Milk chocolate digestive biscuits are my favourite - thankfully we cannot get them where I live (without lots of effort) so I consider this my guardian angel's way of making me stay healthy and really savouring each bite when I get my hands on them

Malted milk are the best for dunking and they disappear in seconds! If I'm feeling healthy I'll opt for a jaffa cake (low in fat) but after the 6th one, the healthy aspect quickly disappears. Plus jaffa cakes are useless if you dunk them!

Love all the suggestions (and strangely don't drink tea unless I fancy a biscuit) but lately have been shown how to make Aussie Melting Moments, simple to make and yet divine although my favourite will always be Tim Tams! ... and living in London, hard to find (maybe not such a bad thing as they are very addictive).

Thanks ASVInteriors ... have lived here for 25 years and do like Penguins but they are definitely not the same, nowhere near . I think it's also more to do with nostalgia and that I can't have them ... when I visit Sydney it's not like I eat them every day, or at all sometimes. Thanks for the suggestion though.

So I have 2, a Ginger biscuits dunked in black tea is favourite for a plain biscuit and having spent 5 weeks in Australia the Tim Tam has taken over in the favourite chocolate biscuit dept from a kitkat. The good news is that these can be found in waitrose! Due to the expanding waistline I now have to stay away from the waitrose biscuit aisle.

Tim Tams have always been the favourite biscuit in Australia ... Kit Kats are not biscuits ...Try the Tim Tam slam! Look it up.

Kitkats ARE biscuits! In fact they're the UK's best selling biscuit and are usually found in the biscuit aisle.
The Tim Tam Slam became the daily family competition during our Aussie holiday, a truly divine biscuit experience if you get the timing right...a soggy disaster if you don't!

mrspreece ... I misread your comment ... I thought you meant the Kit Kate used to be Australia's favourite biscuit and was confused but you meant yours! That makes more sense ... I was too distracted dreaming of Tim Tams ;-)

I love it that even in biscuit eating re the Tim Tam slam, Aussie's like to live on th edge a bit :-D ... but worth the risk occasionally.

Was also curious as had never thought of Kit Kats as biscuits so looked it up and they are called a 'biscuit bar' so they're a hybrid ... now I must stop dreaming of biscuits and get on with my day ... enjoy your biccies everyone!

I'm Irish so the coconut Polo biscuit is my favourite. Down the country (county Clare anyway) most homes will have a pack in the tin. In my house they rarely last long.

Although I would prefer them in coffee, traditional Italian biscotti are great for tea as well. Because they are so dry they are perfect for dunking. Disclaimer: They are also the only biscuits I can make... So I am biased

Tunnocks Caramels are Excellent. Caramel Logs are even better. But I have to question whether they are 'biscuits' I see them more as a 'chocolate'bar'!!
