Hello All
Thanks to whoever put up this site
I have 1920s house in SE London with a small 1985 single storey flat roof extension. I would like to replace the felt roof with a flat zinc roof. Few if any houses in the neighbourhood have zinc roofs in the UK so this is why I thought to ask here
How does one go about getting a zinc roof?
Also - There is difficulty with the plumbing - I think. The photo shoes on the left the bath and basin plumbing from the upstairs bathroom coming out of the wall and leading into a shared (with neighbours) hopper. To the right is the soil stack and the black felt box covers a bend of the stack. The stack continues inside a kitchen cupboard and then disappears into the floor.
I foresee a problem with this arrangement and the proposed new roof: I believe the required additional layer of insulation would raise the roof above the level of the plumbing and this would have to be arranged somehow inside the new roof? From the bathroom site it looks impossible to raise the bathroom plumbing because of the required tilt to let the water run off - if that makes sense.
I wonder if someone who installs a zinc roof know anything about plumbing and how to resolve this issue?
Thank you very much for any comments
