Attic bedroom!

We are moving into a new house and my daughter is having the attic bedroom. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the best use of this space? Thank you!

Having finished our attic a year ago first thing that springs to my mind is if the ceilings are low, get a low bed.
Make the room look in better proportion.
Also, customs made wardrobes/ draws. Maybe more expensive but will fit the space better and look nicer. Good luck

Also, Under the eaves, if your daughter is young, perhaps but up pretty fabric and store toys under there. It's easily accessible, cheap to do and can then Be changed when old enough not to have as many toys.

( I have preschool children hence the idea!)

oh that's great news! We have a very narrow staircase up to the attic bedroom, and really want to get some seating up there. Don't really want beanbags as that feels a bit slobby. Don't really want to have anything built in either. ny suggestions?

Here's the same version, but with Colourhappy's suggestion, Pigeon, which is probably a bit warmer and definitely lighter and brighter. Colours will be different in real life, but it'll give you sort of an idea of how it will look. I was thinking that although blue is a cold colour, your floor and furniture are warm coloured, so it would be levelled out, so to speak. And I don't mind dark colours for bedrooms, but it's a personal preference. I also think that you might want to try a different ceiling light, before installing recessed spotlights. I think your current one is small and only lets out light on the top and bottom? A larger shade that is more transparent and perhaps a brighter bulb, will make a lot of difference. You can add lighting inside the closets (if you don't have that already). There are battery operated LED strips that react to movement, so as soon as you open the door they will light up.

Hi Elena, Our recommendation would be to paint the whole room, including woodwork, in Pure Brilliant White. With one exception, the feature wall - the wall opposite the windows. The feature wall would reflect the light coming in from windows and its colour onto the rest of the room. This would alow for max. brightness while lights on. Worth mentioning is the fact any colour (even whites!) will look darker/different while in north facing room. Good luck! Paintforme

Hi Molly, this looks like a fun space and great for a children's bedroom. I agree fitted wardrobes will be a massive help as the more of the low down, awkward space you can use for storage the better. Keep the colour theme light and bright to prevent the space feeling too cramped. Is the wallpaper, something you have put in or will you be looking to change that? I think a little less of the bold wallpaper would be better. Also looking at the final image, is this an en suite? It would make sense to remove that wooden divider type thing to allow more light in to the room. Hope this helps!
