Pebble mosaics

Does anyone have any experience of using pebble style mosaics on a shower/wetroom floor? I am considering them but am concerned about the amount of grout that sits in between each 'pebble' and how hard wearing they are for a shower floor?!

Any advice would be greatfully received. Thank you.

I have to admit I'm flip-flopping on the same issue - love the look, not sure about the upkeep. I know they have to be sealed thoroughly (both because of the amount of grout and the natural stone).

Mmm, thanks for your comment neotoma, I agree, that is what is making me nervous but I love the look.

You are very kind and I'm so glad to help. That looks like the graham and brown, Desire wallpaper we collaborated on! It is stunning!! Side wall color supports it perfectly and it all looks great with your furniture. Your tastes always seem to fall on the cool and modern side of updated traditional. In the states, we call that transitional. An extension of that concept is what I call classic modern. I think you should continue the room in that vain so choose a modern/contemporary rug. I love Persian and traditional rugs, but these don't fit your decor. One thing that I have really enjoyed about working with you has been the excuse to see what's available across the pond. Found this UK online rug supplier with some great examples. Large pattern in mostly open background. I think a large pattern goes best with the scale do the damask. Also, I wouldn't go with anything more "floral" than this. It's another example of large scale floral but in serious reds. A porcelain tile with a slightly wacky pattern could be a good option? We recently did a shower with one of our products and it was certainly different! This is a mixed decor tile where you get a random mixture of patterns to create an almost "crazy paving" look!

Thanks guys, one of the comments a friend made got me doubting, saying they’d be hard to clean but one supplier said it wouldn’t be an issue as they weren’t porous as they were well sealed so I assumed that if I sealed everything after grouting they’d be ok... Nevertheless a question mark about clashing styles got me wondering about whether it was worth it! Don’t want to go for plain boring white ordinary tiles though... as such I was wondering if I went that route whether grey grouting would add more interest or if I should go for a pearlescent craquelure look or am I just getting further away from a current cohesive look? Help!
