Do the curtains work?

Hi,
I am looking for curtain fittings for gabled windows in a bedroom and wonder how these work. I would prefer curtains over blinds if you can get to work. I am wondering if they operate on a ceiling track?

Sorry this response is so late.. I thought I answered a long time ago. These drapes do not operate, there are fabric roman shades under the wood cornices that operate for privacy.

Hello, If I was you I would pick some light colour. With the grey you have you could get curtain in yellow, light blue, dusty pink. Why not mix and match colours? If you have some decoration or ornaments in your favourite colours, you could get your curtain in the same one. Hi Louise, this is a really interesting discussion, thank you for sharing and looks like it was a great feature! Me personally, I think the secret of my success is being passionate and loving what I do. Then everything else follows naturally! To achieve a work/life balance I have to be quite strict with myself, and recognise I need time to relax to be at my best. I am currently really inspired by the Scandinavian lifestyle - my boyfriend is Danish and I am trying to learn more about 'Hygge'. It's all about being comfortable, getting cosy and appreciating the little things such as a hot cup of coffee and lighting candles. That being said, with Summer approaching I'm excited to start spending more time outdoors - pretty sunsets always inspire me and make me feel good!

Hi peachypear, what a lovely period room. Is that window a shash window? At first glance I would say that window is crying out for a Roman blind. The radiator below the window will hinder any curtains you put up and I think it will look too cluttered. Search on Houzz for photos of Roman blinds to give you some ideas. They look good inperiod and modern homes. If you don't want completely plain then there are loads of softly patterned fabrics which add texture without too much colour. You can then add colour, if you want to, with cushions, throws and pictures.

Late to the discussion, but wanted to put some options on here. There is an option for a 5 sided bat curtain poles, they have passing rings and can be a little faffy, however they do work when fitted level and well. If the angles are short enough i would break the angle and use a 3 sided pole by bringing the pole forward away from the window. The secret with the bay poles is to make the angles as soft as possible and use as few brackets as possible for the least obstructions https://www.direct-fabrics.co.uk/curtain-poles/metal-curtain-poles/bay-window-curtain-poles However i agree with alot of the other points, personally i would fit a curtain track across this. It would dress the window well and would provide a good solid fixing and smooth operation.
