Where were the garage doors purchased from?

I love the garage doors!! I have been looking for some just like that for my garage and this is the only picture I have found that has my idea perfectly!! I like the idea that these doors have the look of sliding doors, but they swing out--GREAT JOB!!

I think your instinct is spot on - the grey does not go with your lovely house at all! You said yourself, 'the grey craze', why follow the herd? Perhaps you should question why you want a 'contemporary colour' instead of one of the many choices which will enhance your beautiful period house. You don't see lovely pink Suffolk cottages, or the black and white half timbered houses characteristic of some areas daubed with grey because it's the latest fad.

I concur with everything above. No, not permitted as it's forward of the front elevation. There are also rules about being within certain distance of a highway. Most Councils will not permit buildings in front of the building line. You may possibly get away with something in the 'temporary structure' section of rules, but they also need careful reading lest you come a cropper. However, I too believe it would spoil the frontage and take light away from the lounge. You could enclose the boundary with trees and hedging, make it more private and do the Temporary structure ( possibly ), so that you can't really see the Garage, which I believe would look a lot better.

I would be inclined to have wall washing lights either side. Not sure about a canopy unless it is pitched like the existing porch roof with brick infill either side but otherwise kept open. Maybe stick with the lights first to see if that alone does the trick. Making the bed on the left the same shape as that on the right and repeating the planting would help to bring symmetry. I am not sure about the two tall Pom Pom shrubs in front of the windows. Sorry I cannot make out what they are. Could they be moved one at each corner of the house perhaps to make a full stop? Taking away some of the grass to extend the drive in front of the door would open up the entrance too. It is difficult to see on the photo but the grass seems to curve towards the door. It would be better if it followed the curve of the drive out and away from the door, basically an expansion of your step that seems to be a curve, and then return in front of the bed on the left in the photo. You could have a path here in front of the left bed in the same material as the drive. I know planting and reconfiguration of your drive wasn’t on your remit so I hope you don’t mind!
