One of the best scents of the summer is when people are lighting up their barbecues - I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!
Some people take their BBQs very seriously and have invested in the very latest model, others have smaller gardens and can only fit the the most compact barbecue. What type do you have and more importantly, do you recommend it?

Comments (15)Hi Dynamo, I'm responsible for the design in your photo and delighted you like the look of this room. You would only need a few square meters of the split mosaic tiles which are available of sheets, so not expensive for a striking feature. Also, easy to keep free of dust with a quick once over with a dust pan brush, or brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner . WC's are often overlooked but when you consider its a room you use every day and your guests use too, why not make it an enjoyable experience! An alternative and very inexpensive idea for your walls and my signature in practically every home I renovate, is installing 6mm MDF panelling with a 10mm shadow gap in between each panel, apply with Pink Gripfil adhesive. 600mm x 600mm square or horizontal panels of any height add a sense of depth and soul to boring flat, painted walls. A sheet of MDF is cheap as chips, just make sure you prime and undercoat thoroughly with a mini roller before applying eggshell finish or acrylic paint. It's not a main bathroom so not susceptible to humidity, therefore emulsion paint in a contrast shade will work well too. Comments (9)I make my own sourdough weekly - mostly white flour but about one third rye gives great flavour. Am sourdough convert and hate 'pappy' bread now. Little actual contact time needed, and lovely, crusty result. Keeps brill and can be sliced as thin as you want. Great for under wet stuff like scrambled legs or beans on toast as it doesn't go soggy. Good toast tho the crusts can then be rock hard. Comments (6)We have one of each. The real on goes in the sitting room and is carefully decorated, all colour coordinated, and meticulously done by the wife. In the conservatory we have the fake one which is decorated by the kids - so it looks like a tinsel factory has exploded, baubles of all shapes/sizes/colours randomly bunched everywhere, flashing lights, tacky beads/bells. You can only make out a tiny bit of green tree under all the stuff (I absolutely love it, it's got so much character, but I'll still go in there any tidy it up a bit when the kids are in bed as most of it is only 'decorated' up to my waist height, so I do move some of it to the top 1/2 of the tree. 8 years agoI have a charcoal bell type BBQ which does the job but last time I used it it was like an inferno, literally a completely out of control fire! Probably more my cooking skills rather than the actual BBQ.
I saw this BBQ at the garden centre today which looks great - but do they work? Or are they just like using a disposable one but nicer looking? I'd be interested in any experiences.
