Daybed dilemma

So, I bought a Daybed which was meant for upstairs. But it couldn't get up the stairs. So swapped out the sofa that was there, as I really loved the bed. Thinking of getting some foam and covering with Osborne and Little fabric. But I know my partner loves the other sofa.. I think the Daybed can work in our sitting room.

Sometimes, especially with smaller rooms it's better to show more floor space. Don't over crowd the room. I would personally put a single bed under it going in the same direction with the foot under the lowest point of the eaves to give an even better illusion of space. You or the estate agent showing new buyers round can point out that a double bed easily fits still! Add a bedside table, storage such as a small wardrobe is best to show off instead of bed size. In fact, house builders quite often buy small furniture to put in the show houses that make the rooms look larger! I agree it's a small double, but it's a really big single! So make it look as spacious as possible! You can also combine the bed and storage buy putting a cabin bed under the eaves!

a sofa bed sound like it makes the most sence given that the parents will be staying but a few other ideas (most of which you have probably already thought of or are maybe out of the question) are: a day bed with a trundle, a futon based convertable price of furniture (the rage in futons is surprisingly large), inflatable mattress, a hammock (a bit on the unusual side but if you get an easy to construct mount you can just fold it away), a camp bed, or maybe embrace the great outdoors even more with just a sleeping bag! Apologies, I kid. I can't think of any other options aside from the above. Good luck with your sleeping arrangements and future family addition.

To ease movement around the room whilst the bed is pulled out, look at one of the ikea sofa beds that is the width folded of the bed.
