POLL: Conservatories and garden rooms - yay or nay?
Comments (121)I never understood why people don't build their conservatory for year round use. It's all about light and heat control. Automatic sun reflective shades along the roof windows will keep the room from overheating in the summer and even help keep it warm in the winter. Proper wall and ceiling insulation, double or gas permeated triple glazing will keep it comfortable year around with the right heating. Add a wee wood stove in a corner with a simply pipe chimney and you have yourself a lovely winter sun room to brighten your cold winter days. If you live where there is snow, even better. It'll feel like a wee slice of paradise....See MorePOLL: Open plan bathrooms - yay or nay?
Comments (18)Hello Bagnodesign, I rather think that designing with "trend" in mind would be fleeting and offer the idea of continual change. I rather prefer the idea of designing with longevity in mind.. It's less about being fashionable but more about what is right for the space and clients needs, likes, budget and so forth.. I think this is not a symbiotic relationship between shower and closet and poses no real advantage as you can easily create a luxurious bathroom or shower room with a nearby closet area that is completely separate and moisture free.. It is though, entirely a matter of personal taste, but perhaps all that is needed is a degree of further separation which houses the shower and thus the resulting moisture is contained.. : ))...See MoreHandle-less kitchen units- yay or nay?
Comments (30)We love the handle-less Kitchen look! Our own office kitchen has it, getting very popular now! Only issue is depending on the material you are using for the cabinets you may be able to see fingerprints/marks, however there are ways to work around this!...See Moreopen plan dining room an lounge and kitchen??? yay or nay???
Comments (9)It just depends on the space you have. Like the comments above, there will be noise/clutter/food smell from the kitchen - do you really want that in full view when you are relaxing or entertaining? I think open plan only works if you have a separate living area, then it's great. Need to be careful with the noise aspect. Have you also considered a pantry area? Ideal to house all the extra food items/small appliances and a washing machine. Hope this helps - good luck :)...See More- 9 years agolast modified: 9 years ago
