Photo frame/ shelf suggestions

I have just repainted one of my walls a green shade to compliment with the others which are white. My room is small and I am looking for suggestions regarding ways to display photographs and art work without the use of bulky picture frames!
Any other suggestions are welcome too!

We have a magnet based hanging system called Phlib, or you could use a cable hanging system or wire clothesline.

I think it depends what makes you happy. I started of with all black frames (variation of photos). Then as my collection and taste changed I added color. I have a neutral home, so now the colors make me smile. Then just recently started making wood art for the backs of some photos and those make me smile even more, along with the love you more sign I made. My grandma passed last year and this was my little bit of her.

Yes that might look good too. If you have the digital image you could have it printed onto some really nice quality paper too. It should be printed in an ink that doesn't fade. Some print houses specialize in this sort of work.

So I just went outside to actually measure the full width of the house, the estate agent plans from when we bought said it's 5m wide so I was quite surprised to find its actually 5.65m and we can extend a further 50cm out so a total external width of 6.15m. Even subtracting the wall thicknesses there's more room to play with than I had originally realised! Have been fiddling with the plan. If I were to lose the raised oven and possibly the pantry the design does look more open and means I could have some open shelving too. Its just whether that ends up being form over function in terms of how I use a kitchen. Hmm decisions decisions! Thanks again for all the help though - much appreciated!

It could be anything. But what can work really well is to frame something that means something to you. For instance, we have framed a pocket watch I bought my wife. It never worked, but it was beautiful. So we set it to the time our son was born and put it in a frame. Silly gifts, especially if they are a little left of field can look great in a frame, as long as they mean something to you. Their beauty is deeper then. My wife always wanted a bubble car, so I bought her a tiny model of one, that's in a frame too. The nice thing about how. you have done your frame is that you can keep changing it. The plants against the black look good, ferns can look especially good in this sort of setting (and make the aire nicer too).
