duck egg and lilac??

i am currently decorating my hallway duck egg blue and cream but my stairs come into my kitchen so was thinking of carrying the duck egg blue in kitchen too but would like my living room cream and lilac is this too much colour?

There will be a lot of pale colours, so I'd suggest you have pops of something brighter to break it up at points otherwise it might become a bit of a sea. Could even come in the form of flowers!

what about doing a deep purple in living room or what colour do you think will flow best with the duck egg blu?

The lilac will be fine and won't be too much colour. If you think of the colour wheel, blues and purples sit next to each other and when you combine neighbouring colours it's called a analogous colour scheme. Purples, blues and greens are all part of the cool half of the colour wheel too.

I think Tom is suggesting adding more colour in the accessories as an accent. If you wanted to add another colour you could bring in some green. In the lilac living room you could even add some duck egg. See pic, it will give you an idea of how the colours work together.

But short version is no, it won't be too much colour.

i agree with mrsmcee re all the colours. I personally like a little contrast so it's difficult to say whether it's too much (just in my opinion) without knowing what is painted what, colour of furniture, woodwork and flooring etc. The colour on the walls in mrsmcee pic works well, ( looks like elephants breath) and would suggest a similar greige colour. You could also add deeper accents of magenta if wanted. The wall colour works in this pic from bellacoco too. Duck egg pretty much goes with anything though so it's just a case of how pastel you want it. Even adding the plant as per pic above brings a nice contrast following on from toms suggestion
