Help with bedroom
Comments (24)I would paint the walls either light creamy white or light gray. One of the 7' walls can be an accent wall where you use slightly different color and/or structure (eg structured wall paper) but I wouldn't do anything crazy as the room is quite small and anything bold could easily overpower the room. Neutral walls also give you free hands on picking accessories and accents. Not everyone likes sheer curtains but the window treatment should be something light and airy (you can use blackout curtain/blinds behind them). A wide white cornice around the room together with white ceiling tends to make the room appear larger and less boxed in. Furniture, I would keep all the big items light - white if possible. When planning the layout I think it's good idea to have the bed on one side to maximize the floor area and make the space feel a bit larger. Good luck, small rooms are always a challenge :)...See Morewhat colors to use ? Help!!
Comments (2)If you want a contemporary feel then I would paint soft grey with a fresh white trims on the timber work. http://www.farrow-ball.com/manor-house-gray/colours/farrow-ball/fcp-product/100265....See MoreColor for living room? Likely to have an exposed brick section
Comments (3)You can probably get away with any colour if they're old brick which I suspect they are? If it's really modern red brick, then shades of blue, grey, white, green would work. In terms of painting it grey do you know which way the room faces and how much light it gets? If it has little light there are still a few paler greys that would work. The curtains are very dark so that doesn't help. If you're seeing clients I would probably go for a pale grey ( I don't know what type of clients they are but am assuming a calm, light environment is needed?!) Do you have any existing furniture to put in the room? I only ask as there are thousands of paint colours so it's normally easier to pick wall colour after the sofa etc....See MoreUrgent colour advice: open plan living room-kitchen required, please!
Comments (3)It's really hard to have an opinion on a screen............uinfortunately, colours just look different to people as the colours on their screens differ from one another.......does that make sense. I can tell you however, having used Dusted Moss 2 & 3 on many occasions, that it is a lot more green than it looks on your chart above, which looks grey. It has grey tones, but as the name suggests it is a green. Dulux is for sure, lovely paint,. The colour charts however, aren't so accurate and the paint mixing compared to the colour cards is also not that accurate. I always suggest to people to go get colour cards and testers and paint at least an A4 piece of paper with 2 or 3 coats. Move the paper around as the paint changes with the light in differing positions. Probably not what you want to hear, but you can't choose paint from a computer screen and hope for any accuracy at all. I now prefer Valspar ( B&Q ), used to be Crown. The colour matching is phenomenal. The accuracy to the cards is spot on, and the paint is good. I used to be a Dulux everything fan................but since discovering Valspar I have been converted....See MoreElizabeth Bowman Ltd
