Comments (9)It's a tricky one on a budget. You need to be careful what you do, as painting the beams and just the front door are going to affect the look of the windows. Always make sure that the colour you pick is going to go well with your red brick. You could think about doing the outside in stages as and when you could afford to do so, as there are many things you could do eventually. Start by painting the Front door and two long windows either side of it to broaden the look of the entrance and do the garage door too. This will immediately change the look and make it more modern. The sagey green will go well with your brick at this point, and the greys won't look odd. Eventually for future plans, it is possible to have the mock beams removed in most instances, and you can hang tiles in that area to re-waterproof it. Then you can render the whole of the rest of the house and have it whatever colour you like. The clay tiles to hang in place of the mock tudor beams also come in a few colours including grey! See it as a long term project and just do it right slowly. Many people fail to see a long term goal and end up making costly snap decisions, slowly, slowly catchy monkey x...See MoreI would like some ideas on updating the front of my house
Comments (11)hello, it depends on how much of it you want to change, we've all been there, decorated a room or something, then changed our minds a year later, so I'm of the view that basic colours work the best...I've done it with many gardens keep the colours basic then add on..you could do as little as spend £50 to transform your garden. If your house was mine and I had an unlimited budget I'd concrete and paint the wall white, put a palm where the shrub is in a white square planter, and repaint the woodwork, I do like the idea of grey but it would depend on if you are keeping it all the same colour. I don't agree with the Tudor comments, your house is quite new, why would you want it to look old..but of course we all have different tastes... Personally I love buildings painted white, fresh looking concrete with tropicals in the garden, I have a 6 foot Australian tree fern and bananas in my garden, there's nothing like sitting out there in the summer, I love it......See MoreJonathan
