Hi Liz I had a look at the images you posted, and I think a lovely green would be great on your kitchen walls! There is a great one, called Persian Green from Colourtrend, i think it has been discontinued on their current colour charts, but is still available to buy, its a lovely warm natural green and would be fab, looking out onto your garden from inside. The blue appears to make the room look slightly cool...so maybe stay away from blues and greys! Defo change the handles, and just plain white roller blinds, with a side winder, no frills, let the light in, clean and fresh too! Hope this helps ;)

We get asked this question a lot, and that is why we sell integrated or integral blinds which are totally enclosed within the glass cavity of the double glazed unit, and are available for most of the doors and windows we sell. They can be manually or electrically operated, are available in a range of colours, and have Venetian or pleated versions. They can be closed for complete privacy, opened to any angle for different shading or raised up almost completely out of the way. Aside from enclosing all the working parts (safe for toddlers), they enhance the thermal efficiency of the unit they are enclosed within and will never need cleaning! You can upgrade existing doors and windows, although if you are purchasing new, ask your supplier about Uni-blinds Integral Blinds beforehand.

I’ve always loved shutters and was considering to install them in our two big bay windows. However, the front of our house faces a greenery and a quiet walkway, so there was no need for them after all. A few of my friends bought them though, and I can’t help myself but to admire their shutters every time I visit. The issue of a proximity to a busy road was sorted out in two houses by the shutters. Hillary’s painted wooden shutters was the best, but an expensive option.
