What is the width of the vaulted room?

Hi there Is it possible to let me know the width of this beautiful vaulted creation please? I love it but I don't know if my plot would be wide enough to accommodate a replica! Many thanks.

Yes you can. Never cut or remove any timbers (including tie beams that run above the existing ceiling line) until you have spoken to an engineer. You will need to introduce steelwork in the same way as you do for a loft extension.

Hello Charlie Thanks so much for your really helpful comments. Sadly we have been let down by our builder so it is now on hold for a month or two so do not have anything to send you. Totally agree regards having the same colour palette throughout. It is more where to put the log burner. Originally it was going in the middle of the wall in the vaulted area but I was concerned about that then becoming the focal point and so creating 2 rooms. I then thought of putting it up against one of the small nibs and using the nib as one side of the fireplace but then I thought if we have sofas around it one end of the sofa would be under the vaulted ceiling and one end under the lower ceiling!! So I am now thinking maybe we should leave it where it is ie centrally placed in the vaulted area. You say 'so the size of the furniture here is even more essential that the placement'. What do you mean by that? Should it be on the larger size? Again, thanks so much for your help. I will look you up online! Kind regards Jane Field

Do you have a barrel vault ceiling/roof above your bedrooms? It sounds like you have interesting rooms. Do you have a steel truss in the roof with lower chords visible, or is it a tie rod/beam? If you post the photo of the ceiling, you might get more attention. I'd say it's probably good to have some upper light components (lighting upwards as well as downwards), but the actual type of light fittings depends on the actual space and where to position them.

Hi Jo, Love the high ceilings. Having floor to ceiling wardrobes may be quite overpowering in the room and take over from the space. My thought would be to have a partial wall behind the bed that would create a walk in wardrobe and then place the bed in front. I am attaching some ideas below.
