How practical is the mirror spladhback. Do you need to wipe it every time after using washbasin ?

there's a visible break in the mirror just above the basin height. I think it would be more practical to start the mirror above that only. it does however depend on the design of basin and tap as well. some don't splash much

What's the difference between glass panels splash back and mirrored splash back, they are both made of glass ain't they? That was the question, the one I managed to read even with my limited reading skills, reads what's the difference between glass and mirror. However your other question that you asked so kindly, yep you can use mirrored glass behind hob if it's toughened, don't know where your based but here in Glasgow I've used Forsyth glazing as I find them a lot cheaper than anywhere else, even if your not near then you should check their webpage out as they have lots of pictures on there of different jobs they have done to give you an idea of the finished look

I had a friend recently who had problems with mirror in her bathroom ... Was quite a large piece and it cracked after it was installed :-( ...Ended up replacing with smaller bits which wasn't as nice as one long bit and was subsequently disappointing. If you have wall cabinets and were planning on using under lighting - this could then be visible via the mirror if you aren't careful ! If you have elderly relatives you might find the mirror where they wouldn't expect one to be might confuse them initially ! And lastly and junk/ mail / coffee cups /crumbs / mess etc left on your worksurface with look doubled !! So you will need to keep it tidy !!!!!

Hi Mariet, I'd go for the plain mirror as you already have a modern kitchen in contrast with an antique table (which is great by the way, I love mixing up styles, it adds character to the room!) Glass would look good - give you a little reflectance without mirroring everything on the worktop. Also could be a subtle way to introduce some colour. If you use clear glass with screw back type fixings, then you can change the colour now and then by painting the wall behind if you're nervous about colour, or think you would want to change the look now and then. Another option is a stainless steel, which again would add in a little light reflecting but in a grey tone that would work well with what you have.
