There's a contact us page so I would give them a ring if unsure, personally would go with manufacturers advice or go back to the person you spoke to and ask them to explain.' Thanks for the replies. I've been to the website, sent Verda and the supplier an email for additional information, so I'll wait and see. It was the grate and ashcan which threw me. I also got it difficult to understand the bit about British building regulations. I've been wondering if their brochure is an almost direct translation from their Swedish one and if the regulation are different there

The installation looks like a robotic smilie face...

I have a wet under floor system throughout the house with wood -look ceramic tiles downstairs It is cosy economical, controlled with thermostats, no radiators, and cleaning is so easy and quick( hoover and steam karcher). My daughter has underfloor heating powered by a biomass boiler. Two friends have regretted their dual fuel wood burning stove because of the uneven heating and mess it created. Though it does look lovely and cosy in winter and makes great toast, it is far more fashion than function.

@mii2 You can’t compare the environmental impact of a wood burning stove to the dust created when demolishing something! You can only compare the different forms of the same things- electric cars produce less small particle pollution that petrol and diesel cars. And wood burning stoves create far more pollution than any other way of heating your home. Don’t get caught up in whataboutery and forget that the oldest wood burning stoves are shown to produce 3700 times the small partial pollution of gas central heating, newer stoves it’s 450 times the pollution of gas central heating. These are not opinions to debate it’s just counting.
