Small bathroom trying to maximises space

Looking to change my bathroom, it's a bit small so looking for some advice on whether or not to change layout or put in shower unit and not a bath. How can I make it look bigger?

can you move the door?

Assuming you can- move it a metre to the right, put the WC and basin on the towel rail wall and have a P shaped bath. Consider a pocket door to maximise space.

Always nicer when the loo isn't the first thing you see when you open the door, if you do as jonathan suggests then put the basin before the loo.
Towel rail/rad could go opposite the (shower) bath along with a shallow locker type wall unit with a mirrored front.

Is this the only toilet in the house? If it is then it can be preferable to keep a separate toilet, so that it can be used whilst someone is in the bath etc. There are space saving toilets and basins, but I think it would still be tight to fit both. Breaking down the wall does gain space in that you can block up a doorway and the space required to open the door.

Front hallway- I say save your money leave it up. Cost of removal is minor but you will likely have to move radiators and electrics and make good plasterwork and coving- I say protect another £1500 profit. Present the larger back reception as a living room and present the front reception as the dining room. Given that the bathroom is likely to go upstairs make the downstairs bathroom into a room to access the garden- I would present the kitchen as a kitchen/breakfast room with doors to see the garden as being able to see from the front door to the back garden should pay dividend.

Put marine ply under them in case you have a flood. And for storage, try cupboards above your head, ensuring they are deep enough for a loo roll. (Why are bathroom cabinets never that deep?!) Remember that you can always hack an IKEA or whatever unit if it's not quite the dimensions you want.

Depends on style/functionality you’re after - we are having a Japanese inspired bathroom (shower first, then soak in a tub) and will be buying an Omnitub - they are very deep. They have a showroom, we visited when we holidayed in Bath and Bristol last year. I’ll check out Lusso tub myself, have their vanity unit in the garage, waiting for us to begin the refurb.

Hello,

Perhaps you could change the layout of your Bathroom ?

You can always decorate it and make it look more spacious. Pannacotta is right, maybe you could move the sink where the toilet is at the moment.

If I was you I would not take out the bath. Nowadays there are so many ways designing your home that everything is achievable...
