Living room layout - would love some advice
Hi, got keys to our new place yesterday. Don't have to rush in as we have some time in a rented place for a bit. Not sure how to layout our new living room, it's the main walk way from hallway to kitchen and previous owner had a sofa along edge of this walk way. We were thinking a corner sofa along the edge of the walkway and TV in corner near window. There is a fireplace but it's just a gas one and the chimney breast doesn't continue upstairs so I wonder if this could come out in future.
Dining room would never been used as that, and previous owner used it as a study area. Photos are previous owner set up, all empty now. Any advice welcome :) We have a toddler so would be using the study area as probably a play/office area as well. Thanks in advance.

Hey there.Looks like it will be a lovely space. If you wanted to take out the fireplace it would really open up the lounge / dining area. One of our clients added a foldable door, suitable for when you want to hide away the study/play area for a childfree evening!

Comments (14)Hi Emily no I haven't actually done anything since first posting actually so still really eager for other people's opinions. That is actually the way it was when we viewed the house and I agree with you but it didn't make sense for our lifestyles. We use the dining table to work on the laptops and for sewing and need the daylight from the one window on the left hand side. Also in turn the right hand side is darker and more suitable for movie nights (we have lots). 8 years agoSo since I posted about 6 weeks ago we now have a lovely wooden floor, fire has been removed and left chimney breast with cables available so we can mount the TV. Have our old sofas sat side by side under the window but still not sure how to plan it all out. Hopefully once painted and we start visiting some furniture shops the rest will just fall into place :) thanks all for comments, would welcome any ideas
