Ok we have an oak kitchen with black granite worktop and are having a Cream Aga delivered next week, the room is north facing and we need some inspiration on wall colours I like Farrow & Ball paint and have read their ideas and they say to use dark colours my accessories in the kitchen are black and Red.... I have bought Off White No.3 but not convinced it just looks like any other magnolia

I must say this is a job well done! It's shocking what a good combination of colours, contrast and small decor changes can do. Good call on changing the see through glass to frosted one in cabinets, not to mention that the bright cabinets with dark worktops and appliances really works in your kitchen.

I would say that sample two is better but only because it is a warmer toned wood. To be honest I don't think that either of them go. The laminate you have chosen is cold and contemporary where as oak is warm in tone and stereo-typically traditional. I have to agree with "Man around the house" maple or walnut would be a better match, although sticking to oak may work best. Either way, I hope you find the right floor for your kitchen!

To a certain extent we are all in the same situation. We exit our house through the front door. Whether or not the door is on the front or back of the house we have to use it. It’s just a case of gathering all your personal effects and legging it out the door quick. Run out and slam door pronto is my motto.

Here are my ideas. I just hope I’ve put the WC in an alcove and not a doorway 🤞. In both, the window wall takes all the 600 deep appliances, full height Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher and sink. The orange are your full height reduced depth shelves. If I’ve got your measurements right then if these were 300mm deep you could then have an island with 900mm clearance all around which I believe is the minimum recommended. Nominally this island would be 900mm deep but could be squeezed a bit to achieve good circulation space around it. You could use a linear hob here to help out. The second option is a version inspired by my own kitchen (pic 3) where we have a peninsula protruding from our storage wall instead of an island. You could have a much deeper peninsula than island here (ours is 1350/1400 deep I think). In our wall is the oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, double larder unit and as you can see a TV. Unfortunately the middle part of ours is hiding a huge chimney breast so isn’t actually storage.
