Comments (16)Yes, the second pic is how it is now, but it doesn't work. There's no wall for a dressing table (it's currently half in front of the window but blocks wardrobe access), and my husband would like a tv in a normal place, currently on the window wall right next to the head of the bed, so barely watchable. The wardrobes are ok, but that's the only storage we have and they need improving if nothing else. I just feel there's so many 'little' things wrong I'd like to find a wider solution. Thanks everyone for commenting....See MoreWalk-in wardrobe design dilemma
Comments (7)Hi Patricia You'll probably want to go for some sort of panel system. Please excuse my crude mock ups but just a quick idea of how you could use the space on each wall. Angled cuts always bump up the cost so I'd go for a stepped in height back panel. The wall with the alcove recess you could always have a false panel that can be removed and items you don't use as often such as suitcases stored behind. You will need to either contact a company that specialises in walk-in wardrobes/panel systems or get a joiner to custom make something. Hopefully my sketches make a little sense to you!...See MoreLayout of master suite - bedroom/ ensuite/ walk in wardrobe
Comments (36)I like Jonathon’s first drawing for a couple of reasons. You can have a walk in wardrobe for all the hanging clothes, which can end up looking a bit messy, and have the more traditional type of wardrobe for items that can be boxed up, such as handbags and shoes, and folded clothes / drawer items. I think a walk in wardrobe is better without a window as natural light can fade clothes, so much better to have a bright bathroom with 2 windows. Finally, as you’re building the internal walls from scratch you could look into having a pocket door system into the en suite thereby preventing a swinging door getting in the way of either the wardrobe or the shower....See Moreniclips
