I am in the process of designing a new garden for a client in North Oxfordshire, and we have settled on a design for a circular garden table with a central recess section to install a firepit dish / bbq. This would be an all weather garden table. The problem we are facing is this. What material would be best used to take the dish?. Wooden sleepers are a concern as they could catch alight. We have also looked at getting some sheets of slate then cutting a circular section to drop the dish. But the cost exercise for this is circa £1k upwards. Ideally we would like to seat between 8-10 persons round the feature. ideas and help gratefully appreciated. Thanks
