Blinds or curtains??!
Comments (7)Hi Ruzaika, Roman blinds are a good compromise as they offer that soft furnishing feel without taking up valuable space - I think curtains might encroach into the rest of wall space/door. You'll be able to choose from a massive range of different colours and designs. Hope that helps, Zoe...See Moreblinds and curtains blinds and curtains
Comments (4)Hello. I'm not sure if I am in right place but I just didn't find a topic about DYI windows blinds so maybe it would be useful not only for me. I and my wife after a year finally finished our home rework. Of course, there still is a lot of work to do, but at least now we can live there :huray: . The first thing that annoys us a lot is disturbing morning sun. We can't get enough sleep, because of it. So we started looking for windows blinds. So far we decided that we want roller blinds. But after long research, we find out that there is an option to get customized blinds and even create our own. There is one of the links where you can do it: https://www.blindsonwindows.com/diy-roller-blinds. So now there is a question, is anyone has tried it, or something similar and maybe could share their thoughts about quality and is it even worth it?...See MoreLarge window at end of narrow hallway... roman blind or curtains?
Comments (25)You can get a wide enough kit. I’ve seen them up to 2.4 m wide, such as this one below. https://www.curtainsandblinds4homes.co.uk/Deluxe-Roman-Blinds-Kits-Cassette-1-1-Ratio-upto-6Kgs/Roman-blind-kit-cassette-240cms. I’ve recently finished one that’s 210 wide & it doesn’t sag in the middle at all so a bit wider should be ok. Just a pain to join the fabric for a wider blind. However, as the window is quite low, I wonder whether long curtains might provide a better finish. Agree that eyelet curtains wouldn’t create too much bulk & look nice stacked back at the side of the window. I found eyelet curtains much easier to make than Roman blinds!...See Moreblackout blind or curtain
Comments (1)I would go for both and set your curtains higher up with a rail and not a pole so there is less gap at the top (to stop as much light coming through) Otherwise curtains over a blind as the blinds let light in at the sides. There are companies who do cassette blinds which bloc out all the light but wow, they are super expensive....See MoreNatalie Patton
