Need help choosing colour for feature wall in kitchen/dining room
Having a problem choosing the right colour for a feature wall in a kitchen/dining room.
The wall is curved and foams part of a design feature, the lower part of the wall connects with a wall outside which is the backdrop of a water feature. the lower wall must stay white.
Not too sure if the photos show the colours that well, all the purples are farrow and ball brinjal 222, kitchen units are a dark brown wood grain effect, floor is cork dark brown with light flecks, back splash is also brinjal 222.
the wall in question is the part painted wall, started to paint in brinjal but too sure if its right!?

Comments (4)I have been advised to paint the colour of the walls the same as the white cabinets to avoid highlighting how off white my cabinets are. However won't this make the kitchen look bland. Comments (21)From what i'm reading, I think you have only two choices on actual brick walls. The one with the cooker is an outside wall isn't it?? .....and then the one with the clock. Totally depends on how much work you want to make for yourself. If you just want to 'dip a toe', then go for the one with the clock. If you want to go all out then do the one with the cooker and hob. However..........and we have done a few of these now........that is Victorian houses...........Lyme plaster is a pain to work with!. Once you touch one bit 10 minutes later you've got a patch 3'x3', then you get bits that feel like they're welded on! Also, we have found on many of the houses that we have done full renovations on, the Victorians were fond of an 'anything goes' brick size approach! So be prepared to unearth allsorts and more importantly, be prepared to have to re-point most , if not all of the brickwork with Lyme mortar and then seal it! It isn't for the feint hearted. Here's an old Chimney breast that we did a few years ago in an Attic Bedroom. ( Before and After ) and finally ones on a Chimney breast from a different house. That's me in the photo !!! Comments (20)I would choose something very close to that deep red/rust/plum (can't quite work out what it is) in the granite. It looks as if that colour is also in the tea towel on the right (hanging on the handle in front of the oven). Everything else is so light I think the room would take it well and it would give it wow factor. Comments (29)Thank you 😊 I went for F&B skimming stone on three walls and Elephants breath on the long wall as I found ST was not warm enough to compliment the frame of the painting. On the opposite wall we have 3 windows and a double door so this is the largest expanse of wall in the room. I love it and think the two colours look gorgeous together....See More
