Need help choosing range colour, wall colour and tiles in kitchen
Comments (27)Update - alabaster painted oak units, oak worktop, (curved end units and worktop corners) belfast sink, 1100 stainless steel rangemaster porcelain large high gloss ivory 600x600 floor tiles, ivory grout - please see attached look book just still to decide on shade of sage on walls - deciding between F&B Mizzle, Vert De Terre, Ball Green and Cooking Apple Green... Also metro sub/way tiles on walls - whether to go for a sage tile or cream/white... The dining room area off the kitchen will have oak parquet floor which will follow through from hall and will also be in the lounge but Im thinking of following the wall colour in the kitchen through to the dining room for continuity and potentially painting the chimney brest or wall furthest away from and facing the kitchen a darker green complementary colour... Thoughts please...See MoreWhat type of back panel for a grey Wall hung gas fire?
Comments (7)I think we're confusing each other! When i said are you wall mounting? I meant the back panel, not the fire. You say you're having a limestong shelf...........do you mean hearth that sits on the floor. It would be impossible to put a limestone shelf on a wall without support under it. A hearth and back panel set look like this, this is limestone, but comes in different colours. It's very heavy and has to sit on the floor. and....................they are usually finished off with a fire surround the same as the picture that i gave you above and now below. If it's a solid back panel, then you can put the fire on it wherever you like, it doesn't have to sit on the bottom on the hearth like the one above. What you need to look for are Hearth and Back Panel sets. Hope this helps...See MoreFreestanding or wall-mounted TVs?
Comments (16)Hello again, Jayk. The disagreement was about the value of fireplaces. I love them; you don't! I only discovered I loved them when I got one - this is the first home in which I've had one and up till now I've thought they were a pain, assuming they should be the focus of a room without my permission. But we agree on the technology side. It is unbelievable, isn't it, that something that we use every day (most of us, anyway) such as a television should be so prescriptively ugly. You'd think they could come up with something better that suits enough of us to be a financial success for the technology company. The way southernpointofview has fitted those two televisions in is impressive but I don't have that sort of furniture. I want a discreet wall-mounted television on an arm so I can swing it out and back. Sounds simple ......See MoreNeed help choosing new wall colour for sitting room.
Comments (53)Well the walls have been repainted at last. And the winner was....................... F&B Cromarty! Second was Mizzle, but it looked a little too dark in my north facing room, but it was a close contender. Thank you all for your brilliant advice. We both love the colour, and you can see how different it is in various areas. E D - the sofas are now away from the walls and the castors are sitting on brass cups (the plastic ones shattered) and it has worked, they don’t move!...See MoreSi Xian
