Living Room: before and after
Comments (18)Ha ha, yep the before is an eye catcher ;) yep radiators are powder coated aluminium, i have now gone off the black and have actually been thinking of getting them sprayed, but not white... More like a very pale grey. Added a couple more recent shots, with a few added extras...See MoreLiving room decor
Comments (10)Hi Chelle. I like the little revamped set of drawers, matches your other furniture well. Yes, I would also paint the chest of drawers in the same colour grey and I’d also paint the picture rail in grey as well. Just think the pine is making it look a little dated. I see in your idea book you like teal colours. I think this will look great on the chimney breasts as the current wallpaper does look a bit too busy. How about a wallpaper or wall mural behind the sofa as well. Was thinking of a watercolor effect (one in pics is from Mr Perswall). What I do love is the bold colour pops you have. The teal cushions, yellow and red/pink lampshades, even the orange piping on the dog cushion. Having a few more accessories in these colours will look fab against a rich blue and grey scheme. Also have a look at Bluebell gray soft furnishings and on a more subtle note but with more animals Voyage Maison fabrics. Ah, to be rich indeed:) Even if I was I’d still be finding furniture to revamp and art projects on the cheap. Here’s some ideas:...See MoreQuirky School Renovation Flat - need inspiration to quirk it up!
Comments (11)It's a great flat however I'm with E D, I wouldn't draw attention to the bottom of the Windows so would leave bare, it will also help with light levels. I would also try pulling the sofa out, adding a rug and art above the sofa. It's quite hard to find quirky things for people as I think it needs to be something you love rather than quirky for the sake of it but if you want school related items, you could add old maths/science posters or book covers of famous Victorian art (1984 obviously wasn't but you get the idea 😂). You could also add a little more focus on the dining area, just random ideas but there's a maths wallpaper, a Victorian abacus or easel with art on etc. A bit more obvious but i cant see if you have any chairs so you could add old school ones if not, do you have any lights in that area? i...See MoreTwo sofas - different colours
Comments (10)Hello LJ, Congratulations on your new home! Absolutely love your style and the soho house you are inspired by! I also love the soho style so your post really resonated with me and my style. I have put together a moodboard for you, it is similar to what I would give my clients at design stage in a project or as part of my low cost online interior design package that I offer. It is SO brilliant that you are recycling your beautiful chesterfield and reusing it in your new space! I agree with Sonia that a navy velvet sofa would look lovely with a tan leather sofa. I thought I would give you another option here of recovering it with a burnt orange/terracotta linen or cotton. If you wanted something a little more lixe a wipe clean velvet would also work in deeper orange/red. A neutral sofa would work really well next to it and keep the room feeling bright and not too dark and moody as they have done in soho Mumbai. You could also include different tones of green if you wanted to/have space for additional furniture. Your idea to include splashes of gold would be perfect! Gold accessories/side tables with the green and terrocota/red would give you the warm rich aesthetic that soho Mumbai does so well. Love the idea of adding texture and a more casual feel to juxtapose the rich tones with a natural rug layered over your beige carpet and baskets to store logs next to your fireplace. The rug will also separate the beige and the neutral sofa so the two tones do not meet. Panelling would really elevate your space especially in green … it would look fantastic and bring out the colours in your beautiful cushions - they are really special! I wasn’t sure of your budget but all the pieces I have used are available to buy. I hope you enjoy looking over the moodboard! I currently have availability for consultations if you wanted any further help :) Feel free to look at my services online www.katetilleydesign.com Kate...See Moreminnie101
