What's your dream kitchen style?
Comments (59)I saw this kitchen in a magazine recently and finally found it here on Houzz. Love the bold colors and open airy feel to the whole house- this would be my dream kitchen (house) if I had the $$$ to redesign or build from scratch. There are more pictures of the actual the kitchen in the magazine...but not on here sadly....See MoreWhat would you most like to change about your kitchen?
Comments (25)The lack of bench space, and I'm not sure which category of the poll that fits into. Layout maybe, since we'll need to move things around to make it work. Our kitchen is enormous, but it's all storage - one whole wall is floor to ceiling pantry-style cabinets. On the other all the stovetop and the sink take up a full half of the bench top, so there is just enough room for one chopping board and bowl on what's left when you are cooking. The crazy thing is, it's not even a tiny galley kitchen, but the space in between the two walls is only just big enough to squeeze an island in, so we are trying to decide between being cramped, or knocking down walls and completely remodelling. Can't quite bring ourselves to pull the trigger on the latter, though, as all the cabinets and cupboard are in great shape....See Morekitchen Island - struggling to find pictures of island seating layout
Comments (28)Oh, you sound so stressed! Other than the 3D rendering, I would recommend the old cardboard box trick to show how tight all the spaces are. Not only will you not be able to stand in front of your beautiful sleek drawers when you open them - you'll have to stand next to them - imagine coming in the door from the hall with a bag of shopping or your kids coming in with backpacks and then sliding through an 87 cm space. You need a lot more circulation space for a comfortable, working kitchen AND you won't be able to visually appreciate this island of your dreams where it is currently (as Jonathan said). Perhaps move the kitchen and island down in front of the internal bifold doors so you can see the island from a distance and gain more width and then have the seating at the end with the TV on the wall you already suggested, like this photo that J posted: Good luck!...See MoreDream home layout help for kitchen
Comments (4)Hi Kay, Jonathan, Nicholas your all absolutely right I am definitely going to leave it alone and as you said the money I will save not taking out that wall will go towards that extension in the future! Thank you everyone! It’s great to get some one else’s eyes to give there perspective especially when we do plan to do an extension just not yet 😊🏡💕 Thank you...See Morepavinia
