Comments (2)I really like what you've done so far but you're right, the furniture doesn't really suit it anymore. I'm in a similar situation as have decorated my lounge but also feel my couch needs changing. maybe you could dress your table with a white table cloth and runner with a pretty centrepiece to tone down the wood. Maybe some white wooden chairs? You could probably buy some off eBay or something and up cycle them until your budget allows you to replace them with something fancier. curtain wise I would look for a plain pattern closely matched to the wall colour...but then I quite like it when curtains blend with the the walls. Good luck...See MoreI'm painting my kitchen and need some help!
Comments (10)Hi. I like your kitchen as it is however after 6 years maybe it is time for a change! Your idea of painting just the wall units would work, I'd keep them in the wall colour, not sure if you're changing that or not? I think the worktop is fine, it's reflecting light (and everything else!)! Another option is to keep the island in wood (also means avoiding painting wine rack). If you went for cup handles for example I think you could have 2 on each island drawer without leaving any holes. I'm not sure on the cooks blue with the black tops but the pitch blue may work although I don't expect it will alter the light situation. Have you also looked at little Greene paint? I rave over the quality and it wipes down very easily whereas I personally find f&b and dulux trade doesn't. In theory I would use satinwood on the beams although I have used emulsion on a couple of things that don't take any knocks to get a chalky feel and they're absolutely fine....See MoreWardrobe door ideas - please help I’m stuck
Comments (12)Yes I did look at these as would have gone for something like that for sure if I could only find a contemporary version that wasn’t frosted glass - if anyone has seen any please do shout! emily, a carpenter friend of ours suggested Louvre doors - it maybe an option. I think I’m so hung up on the nice grey glossy sliding wardrobe doors I wanted that anything else isn’t matching up! If only I could get a grey glossy door in that barn style the previous person posted about I’d be a happy bunny! Thanks ever so much for taking the time to give your ideas...See MoreHelp with open plan kitchen wall colour please as I’m struggling!
Comments (25)I would have poo poo’d this idea before as I’d wonder what the point was, but make your self a mood board using the colours roughly in the same ratios. Are you planning on having some artwork as this may be the lynchpin that helps it hang all together. Pulling colours through from that will help the scheme. Tonal can be soft and soothing but needs layering up with texture to create a cohesive scheme. Alternatively pops of bright colour can look amazing and your kitchen is lovely and bright with good bones. What is the rest of your house like, and what is your style?...See MoreAmanda
