Colour to match bedroom wallpaper?

I have the Laura Ashley wallpaper on the LEFT of this picture for the wall behind my bed, however am stuck on which colour to use on the other 3 walls? I like taupe colours but don't know whether I should colour match with the lighter stripe. The picture makes the stripes look more obvious, they are quite subtle really, so I don't want the room to end up looking too white!!

Hello Sophie I would match the deeper stripe if you love Taupe colours more than white. You could also add white in the bedding for a fresh look.

I did wonder that Susan but I didn't know if it would look ok to match the darker colour? I intend on having white/light bedding and white wooden blinds so there will be lots of white in there but I'd like to make it a bit warmer with taupe and brown in accessories.

Hi, Sounds like a really fun project, we really love experimenting with wallpaper at Amazing Space it will make a great feature of your space. Here are three favourites and some colour ideas to go with them, that will hopefully get your inspiration going. All of these options have that well Nice textural element to add depth to your space but in a really subtle way with the colours being very light and chalky. Love the colour of the bed. I think I'd build your colour scheme around it with the introduction of some pattern and textures. If wallpapering I would just do the one feature wall behind the bed and keep the other walls, bedding, window dressing and accessories in white or neutral colours. The wardrobes are a very traditional colour, so any other element which is also perceived as traditional may look a little 'staid'. I would consider a palette like this. Paint and Paper library Desert Rose is a lovely dirty pink beige which looks great with stronger teracotta accents and cleaner pinks. It would work with the purple colour of the wardrobe. Anything taupe would go flooring wise, just not orangey oak or pine.

Personally if it was my room Sophie I would choose white over taupe for the 3 other walls. I like the simplicity of white and then you can add art or a mirror on the wall to bring in more colour and interest. You could then bring in the taupe with soft furnishing highlights like cushions on the bed and a throw rug. What flooring is in the room are you keeping the floorboard I can see in the photo? This can also change the warmth of the room.

This is a bedroom I decorated for a client a few years ago. The furniture, wall colour, blinds and lamp bases were all my client's existing items. We added the custom made geometric lampshades, white bedding, quilted taupe throw and large cushions and custom made smaller cushions that later on had the clients initials embroidered. Plus the large mirror behind the bed.
