I was just like you Emme but took it to the next stage! I went on YouTube and found some really helpful videos, bought a kit from eBay and had a go! Made a batch filled my little tins and gave them out at Christmas. Lot of faff really and not a cheap hobby unless you were thinking of going into business I would stick to buying them from someone who is already kitted up to do them. You need to invest a lot of time and funds to really impress. But please don't let me put you off just speaking from experience!

Looks like an old thread but l'd like to comment anyway. Leave it as is. This is a great Mediterranean look. The grout is fine - a white grout would look rather blank here, and l'm so glad the mirror is simple and you placed it on a simple wood backing. The concrete basin stand adds an understated industrial touch whilst the style of the porcelain fittings is perfectly timeless and l like taps too. The shower sure does need a glass screen to keep water from raining all over the place! You could make the blue pop out further by using a combination of grey and two blues in your towels. Well done for this brave success!

Wow TWO YEARS LATER and I've just solved my old but lovely furniture problem. It's all gone to the Museum of Work at Bath! Even the bentwood chairs (not Thonet!) which need work, was willingly taken because they have a volunteer cabinet maker there. I'm over the moon about this so thanks to Stuart who runs the museum and who took them. But guess what, he only lives 5 doors down from me! 5 doors in 25 months that's 5 months per house, amazing how long it's taken us to get to know the neighbours! Thanks also to everyone who came up with ideas on what to do with them.

Those doors and sash windows are lovely, we're not sure who made them but we could make something very similar. All our timber projects are bespoke and we can paint them in a factory finish to match any colour you like. We do traditional lead weighted sash windows too so if you like the windows next to the doors these could also be made. All our doors and windows are double glazed, we used toughened glass and the doors all have multi point locking systems for high security.
