couch against the wall

I slightly reorged my living room to accomadate a dining table , now my couch side touches the wall , there used to be side table with a table lamp on thee corner before but now it looks a bit odd. pushing the couch by the wall does great as it aligns well with the positioning of the TV table in the alcove opposite to the couch , but the symmetry element is missing. any advice is much appreciated. thanks .

Hi there

I think your sofa looks little bit shoved into a corner. Is there any chance could move the lamp table and lamp to the right of the sofa? This will look much better and not crush your curtain.

Agree with comment above or add matching table and lamp on the other side of the sofa for a nice symmetrical look.

Hi. A few options.,You could try a 2 seater between the windows, position the tv opposite on the bathroom wall and have a 3 seater on the back wall. Or keeping with the tv where it is, have 2 x 2 seaters at right angles to the TV and windows. Or the TV on the back wall, a 2 seater between the windows and a 2 seater opposite on the bathroom wall. Or the TV on the back wall and have an l shaped sofa opposite it and put a console table or something behind so you don't have a view of the sofa as you walk in.

Hi. If you create a series of shelves, perhaps decreasing in depth as they climb the wall, you could create a useful office space that won't detract from your living area. If you don't like the look of open shelves, you could alway add a door, flush with the balcony door. If the door had no obvious handle it would look as though the wall ends flush with the glass doors to the balcony.

Its sounds like your new home has a lot of potential! I personally would keep the chimney as a feature as it adds character. You could have a sofa against the wall with the stairs and one against the top wall and a rug in the middle. You could also have a tv on either the left or right hand side of the red mark.
