Need help for rugs on under floor heating
Comments (2)It's true that rugs reduce the heat from the floor for underfloor heating, but you can put them on it. We have rugs in our living room and hall and have no problems with heating the rooms. They used to say you couldn't carpet over underfloor heating but now people do, with the right underlay. Just make sure you are not covering all (or most of the floor and it'll be fine)...See MoreWhat's the best flooring over undefloor heating?
Comments (5)In terms of conducting heat, the tiles will be slightly better but the wood will also allow heat to eminate through. Just make sure you check with the suppliers that the tiles / wood are suitable for use over underfloor heating. With the wood, you may need to lay a suitable membrane beneath it. Separately the issue with herringbone over an expansive area is making the pattern meet up- generally a competent fitter will have no problems- I wonder if the issue is that you aren’t actually looking at LVT but instead floating floors (click together floors as opposed to stick down to the screed). Floating floors need to expand and over a large sized area can need an expansion strip adding which looks fine if you can add it to a doorway but looks odd in the middle of a large room....See Morebenburnett
