Could Repose Gray be used in a low light room?

The window is kind of small and the room faces south east - mostly east. There are a lot of shadows, and it gets kind of dark in the afternoon. Would this paint color look dingy? We don't have ceiling molding and our ceiling is 8 feet high. Our floors honey colored and our furniture is a a medium reddish oak. I want the same bright, clean, look that you achieved. Any help appreciated! Thanks.

Repose is the lightest color in that "strip" if you will. It's incredibly light and airy any time we have used it. There is hardly any beige in it, so I can't imagine that it would look dingy.

Traditionally farm houses usually had wall sconce lighting. Thank you everyone for your great suggestions. I don't have a lot of money I'm afraid so can't really splash out buying everything new. My bedroom is Mauve with light grey accessories which I love but I don't really want to copy that in the living room. I do think a carpet would make the living room warmer as its quite a cold house. But would that mean more grey (for carpet)?! As comfortable as the sofa is, it was probably not my best idea as its limiting choices. I just need to decide on a completely different colour or light grey and light grey curtains. I like the geometric suggestions but maybe in a white/silver or the peacock blue wall. Also I had one of the side walls yellow at one point but got bored of that too. Thanks again for all your help.

So your suggesting wall lights and lamps only. No recessed spots or led strips along beams? We will be having tv unit in alcove furthest from window and a sofa facing fireplace just placed in front of doors on either side. The other half of the room will be a dining area temporarily. Will wall lights be enough and how many? I prefer symmetry in my rooms also. The ceiling to floor is approx 7ft. I’ve read to make a room look higher than it is uplighters are best is this so? If our plans work out the dining area will eventually turn into a quiet area with comfy chairs bookcase etc. My husband is not a fan of wall lights says it restricts you if u want to change furniture around. I love them but with a low ceiling I am unsure how high up they should be not just for best lighting but for furniture arrangement and if they are on a wall where u walk could be an obstacle? I have also posted about my spiral staircase but I put it in the topic design dilemmas but it is about lighting also.

Hello, it’s funny but warm cream shades fell out of favour when grey seemed to take over the world of decor for many years. I like a warm, buttery cream but I struggled to find images of it used with grey kitchen units. I managed to find this pic of a grey DeVol kitchen and cream walls. Love the way it’s teamed with wooden shelves. As to paint shades, I’ve used Dulux Ivory and Dulux Elderflower Tea in the past, as well as Almond White. Lovely warm neutrals. i also wondered whether changing the cupboard doors to something more to your taste may improve things? There are lots of companies that do this, and I noticed even B&Q sell just doors too. Just a suggestion.

Repose is actually the second color, with Eider White being the lightest, if that helps anybody

I’m using snowbound or either Pure White would work also. Dover White is too warm I think.
