Layout for lounge / diner - downsizing
Comments (1)Hi, I would change sofa's placement to the green wall. The sofa won't block the access from the door and natural path through the lounge this way. Now you could use a corner sofa. You could place a side board on stair's side. Maybe could add a Pladur wall on that side too so yiu'll gain an extra 'wall'. Norikei www.norikei.com...See MoreLounge diner layout woes!
Comments (3)Hi. I would put the wing style chair where the wooden one is at present and centre the armchair under the window. It looks as if you can centre the dining table and still have room to walk through? I would probably go for a coffee table to bring furniture into the middle of the room. Do you have any large pieces of art to zone the dining area or make a small gallery ŵall? Or perhaps use the mirror and buy art for over the sofa if the mirror is reflecting the tv. Alternatively it may work (hard to tell!) if you have the sofa where the tv is with the armchair facing the bay so at rightangles to the bookcase and door with the wing chair angled in the corner where the lamp is. That way the tv wouldn't be the focal point although you could create a gallery ŵall around the tv where it is. The pics don't really show the end of the room so hard to tell. Looks a lovely room (and sofa!)...See MoreHelp needed for open plan kitchen lounge diner floor
Comments (17)Thanks urban space - we don't have under floor heating and the wood floor we had fitted about 5/6 yrs ago has been a nightmare. We did have an expansion joint but had so much movement and warping. We had the company back out beginning of this year and we had wanted to have a new floor at that stage but they said they could put right the existing one. Not sure on the technical term for what they did but they effectively relaid/ straightened it and used a resin with wood chips in to fill the gaps so you couldn't see them but within 5/6 months we have movement again and now all this resin is starting to rise out the top. For that reason I'm just not prepared to have a proper wood floor again - it might be down to the fitters but it has been extremely costly. By the time you add our dog into the mix and the scratches he has added to it I think a fake wood effect is the way to go for us...See MoreApartment lounge / diner layout help
Comments (11)Hi Mark, perhaps consider a corner mounted screen to the left of the long window. Accompany this by an L-shape sofa against the wall on the right of this window, if you combine this with a side board behind the backrest of the sofa to serve as a room divider and storage unit you create a little nook in front of the window next to the kitchen for a small dining table and chairs. Complete your lounge area with a armchair and coffee table, maybe a few stools for extra seating or foot rest and a nice lamp in the corner next to the sofa. I hope this helps.
