Blinds for curved bay windows

Can anyone advise on where I can get blinds for curved bay windows or does it not matter?

It shouldn't matter really. An experienced blind fitter/specialist will know if anything different would be needed. If you're unsure on blinds you should maybe think about shutters. I've always thought they looked beautiful framing a bay window.

Hi Ms Jacqueline - we saw the comment above about trying shutters and thought we'd check in. Shutters with slim panels can work very well with a curved bay window. That many blinds would be a pain to open and close on a daily basis. You'd likely end up leaving some of them closed permanently which would cut the light enormously. Consider curtains that hang from the flat wall above the archway, in front of the whole bay window. When open they could hang on either side of the opening, meaning no loss of light. It would definitely make the room smaller when closed but would be a lovely 'wall of fabric', closing off any clutter on your dressing table.

You will get light coming through with any blinds at the edges where they meet. Maybe you could change to shutters? I still think you'll get a little diffused light through those. If you don't want the expense of the shutters and or still want to go for black out curtains, then have them sill length and pull them round the bay.

Shutters are a classic, timeless look that goes well with various interiors. I found a few client photos with windows similar to yours. We had another client who opted for a boxed pelmet with pinch pleate curtains which could work with your window. It creates a very clean and elegnt look. Plus voiles for extra privacy but still allows light in. Similar but with a voile curtain To save on costs you can forgo the pelemt box, pinch pleats or eyelets look stylish as is.

Lovely big windows! As others have suggested lightweight light coloured curtains wouldn't have the bulk of thick curtains, so wouldn't take up too much space on each side but they would help frame the windows. They would also still let some light in. If you had white or another light colour they would bring further brightness into the room. But you might only want them either side of the window. Also thought these examples of bay windows with roman blinds and simple curtains, still letting light in as the roman blinds could be in a voile like material or a neutral colour. That way you close off where privacy is needed and then have everything open the rest of the time. Hope that helps.

Hiya,

We have an extensive range of blinds for curved bay windows. There are lots of options available, including Roman blinds for a sumptuous look, striking patterns and shades in Roller blinds, or more practical options which offer privacy such as Vertical, Wooden and Venetian blinds.

Also, in case you are interested, curved curtain poles are available, for both dress and ordinary curtains.

I've attached a few images below - most of these have less window panes than I would imagine, but as all of our blinds are fully made-to-measure then this is not a problem at all. An advisor would simply be able to tailor advice to you on a free home appointment.
