Do you prefer table lamps or floor lamps in your living room?
Comments (14)I have both including a stunning floor lamp that I wouldn't be without. It gives the whole room a soft glow from a dark corner and I have it on all day. The table lamps and lanterns, together with candles in the evening, make the room a wonderful space for relaxing. The lanterns by the fireside are surprisingly effective - a string of fairy lights wound around a silver birch log and placed inside a lantern. I've added moss, beads and some woodland creatures in one of them - quite magical! BTW I covered the lampshades too!...See MorePOLL: Where do you start when decorating your living room?
Comments (23)Furniture and flooring need to be long stay options, so I would choose these first, then introduce colors of walls from curtains and pick it up in cushions and rug. that way it is easy to freshen up room in a few years without changing the major expenses e.g. new paint color and cushions...See MorePOLL: What type of dining table do you have?
Comments (17)I searched everywhere for a round extending glass table and eventually found this ingenious piece of engineering of an extending table. It extends into a large oval and I have seated upto 10 people around it . It cost a lot of money but I love it, only downside is it takes a lot to keep it looking sparkling clean. Also you can keep an eye on your guest and see if anyone is playing footsie under the table. I have moved several times with this table and it has fitted in perfectly in every home. It also gets a lot of ohh's and ahh's when you show people how it extends. It is worth every substantial penny I bought it for....See MorePOLL: How many light fixtures do you have in your living room?
Comments (10)In the family sitting room, we have a 5 arm pendant light on a dimmer switch, with 3 matching 2-arm wall lights. One further single wall light. We have one desk lamp, and lighting above the glass shelves of the alcove and in the inglenook fire place. The OH also has a floor standing, adjustable angle light for reading. In the other sitting room we have, 4 down lights, a centre ceiling light with 5 arms, 4 table lamps in the corners, 2 wall lights and lights in shelving alcove and in the wall of bookcases. Like others have said, they're obviously not on all at once....See MoreThe Wooden Floor Store/Company
