Furniture to go with dark brown leather bed

Asking on behalf of a friend. He's just moved to a new house and can't get his solid oak furniture into the bedroom. He has a chocolate brown ottoman style bed and needs to start again with wardrobes etc. What furniture styles/colours go with brown leather?

I'd say go for a grey (dark or light works depending on the look you want) or even a really dark navy/black for a feature wall. Try and intersperse some white in there (i.e. ceiling) and don't over do on the black if there's not much light. Hope that helps!

yes, bown nightstand will be ideal - maybe some rustic shade of mexican pine? If your floor if light brown, and a rug is cream, go for darker / medium brown to create a nice accent.

Hello christjne, I am just getting a few images for you.. Hold on.. Oka do some that are rather good.. Also their faux flower collection is really good. This one is from them and also their velvet in Porridge and Pale Sage could be nice along with Mole colour and Caviar is one they have too that would work possibly... .. There is also the option of throws and they have one in Mole and you could also think of stones and other shades of earthy tones... Group with 1 plain mole colour to give accent but I'd say 1 of each together on 1 or 2 sides and a throw or two for the sofa.. You may find some others you like too.. They also have Mirrors and the Cesario large could be very nice, it has a nice bevelled frame with dark wood and accent of gold that would be gr8 with the dark sofa.. All depends on budget as I have many more suggestions including antiques but for something under the one roof as it were... : ))

Depending on the style your trying to accomplish you have a few options. If your style is very modern I'd go with grey walls white furniture and pull some green into your accessories and curtains. If your wanting a more traditional look I'd try oak furniture white walls and accessorise as you like but pull the green that way. You always have the option of a 70s style (I know it's not a 70s sofa) but you could play on the colour by adding a vintage sideboard and big rug maybe adding some mustard yellow and light blue.

It’s tricky since in my opinion it does depend on the specific room when you go dark. I’ve gone dark in plenty of rooms over the years and I admit some looked awful and had to be redone. But others looked great and I’m not 100% sure why. But one thing I have learned is that how the bed is dressed makes a big difference. Good quality white bedding balances out too much darkness sometimes, after all beds are large surface areas. And if the floor is light that makes a lot of difference. Also, on those large bedside tables if you had traditional light coloured lampshades that could be a good contrast especially when lit. And finally, a well chosen art print above the bed
