Layout advice on bathroom please

We are renovating a house and have managed to fit in a pretty big master ensuite but are struggling with giving some wow impact despite the space. I attach the original design which is the bottom plan but it feels like we are just shoving a standard bath etc in the corners and it will feel a bit dull?
Re did plan to have the shower straight ahead as you walk in but then have a dead space to the right.
Any suggestions very welcome.

Hello Anna,

Like the double sink... wall hung loo? For something that says impact and sophistication.. think of the colours you want.. Finishes... Little details... taps and shower heads etc.. Walls and flooring to match to create a seamless look perhaps. Could you have a square bath?.. more like a soaking tub Japanese style or a more focal free standing bath... Perhaps have concrete screed and flooring.. with wooden elements like simple sleeper shelving.. Create nifty shelving for towels etc..

A double walk in shower with strong attention to glass fitting.. So it appears to blend with the room rather than dominate.. Either a wet room stye with full tanking involved or one with a tray... You can even get wooden shower trays...

For situation perhaps have a square deep soaking tub where the bath is currently drawn in.. and opposite the double walk in shower.. as per the second setting..

You could even box the tub in if wanted to create something more intimate with the window on the other side and possibly some lovely storage on the other side of the wall next to the window.. If you boxed it in that is.. .

Or leave it open, found a few images of things that might be of some interest inspiration wise.. Bottom 2 for shower finishes plain glass and fabulous shower rose.. Consider dark as a colour.. I love the idea of concrete..or marble style subway tiles and marble or an affordable alternative looking sink.. Maybe antique mirror(s) rather than mirrored cabinets...... : ))

This is a huge bathroom and I think you could do so much more with it. A really cool look I've seen is to have a free standing bath in front with a walk in shower behind. I'm not quite sure if that would fit in the width of your bathroom.
A bathroom that size is crying out for a wow feature like that.
Another option would be to have a free standing bath sticking out into the centre of the room. I'll look for pictures.

Thank you for the suggestion.we currently have shower bath but my husband want separate shower.i wonder if i should move the sink between the shower and the toilet and maybe build a storage on each side of the bath?

I've been thinking about options to cover all basis and came up with this. To allow guests to use a bath/shower the ensuite would be shared. I added a wall in the master bedroom to divide it and add privacy so guests don't have to walk into the bedroom to get to the bath/shower. The upsides are that the ensuite is larger, includes a bath and shower and has more vanity room. Also, by diving the bedroom I can add sort of a walk-in wardrobe. The downsides are that there's only one bath/shower that has to be shared and guests have to walk through the walk-in wardrobe to get to it. Also, it reduces the size of the master bedroom but it's quite a long room anyway and it would cut out the light from the windows in the bedroom. Personally I don't see these as big problems but I guess some people won't like it. Do you think this is a good idea?

You could do this with a quadrant shower also to keep costs down. You would need to stand a mirror on the sill This wetroom option would be the most expensive This gives you the squarer shower that you wanted, but a bespoke side panel would have to be made Again, the Neo shower could be swapped for a Quadrant to keep costs down, but you can have a wall mirror with this option PM me if you want to discuss further Vicky

Hi S C, We'd really need a bit more info on window sizes (width & height), placement (including distance from floor) and position & size of doors as well as whether it is hung on the RHS, LHS and opening inwards or outwards to be of any real help to you!

I'm not sure the room is deep enough to have the bath in front of the shower if shower on the back wall is it?
Could look at doing that on side wall but then have a whole other side empty- what would we out there?
Agree we are missing a trick at doing something amazing but wish I could decide what!
We can't actually sink the bath as no room below but will look at the rectangular/ square baths thanks

If you did that across one end I'd put sinks towards other end of long wall and maybe have a very sumptuous chair between bath and sinks.

Any chance you can change room shape slightly? You'd have many more options if it was squarer.

Can the door be moved slightly? I did have some great photos where the shower is wet room style (but have deleted them whilst trying to clear my photos!). The bath would go on the right ŵall with a shower head to the left of it on top ŵall and then glass doors all the way across. Sink on bottom ŵall. I will try and find some pics again!

Hello Anna,

The placement on your drawing shows the bath opposite the loo and the shower opposite the sinks.. So I think that is having them side by side.. Or do as minnie suggested have the bath along with the shower and have a large glass panel... Again it's the same placement with a free standing bath and shower adjacent.. :))

Freestanding bath in front of open shower on RHS. Sinks facing door (either side of window). WC behind door - consider boxing this in.

Not at all.. ... I may not have explained it well.. So what I thought placement wise was that if you imagine the room in two halves.. One half has loo and sinks and opposite other half has bath and shower.. Bath opposite loo or if square tub.. or more centrally placed along that wall if it's free standing and open wet room style shower opposite the bath on the same plane.. (double window wall)

If you wanted as per Minnie's image have a glass screen with an opening at 1 end to enter the bathing section of the bathroom... Hope that is now making sense.. : ))

I would suggest. Roll top bath as you walk in right in front of you and a walk in shower to the left.

This is approximately what I mean... Image shows bath in same spot but you could move it along to suit. They are on the same plane... I'm suggesting be more interesting with choices for things like storage etc... Screen could be longer too and perhaps think of a shelf built into the tiling so its not stuck on... Little wooden bench to sit on... Floor and ceiling tiles to create a seamless finish.. Wall hung basin and loo without vanity unit which I find a boring option. Build in towel shelving and storage into the fabric of the bathroom rather than add pieces... apart from little things like stool etc... Think of really fabulous finishes and fixtures.. Have a flat wooden "sleeper" for a under sink shelf - adding woods to marble or polished concrete screeds, or painted plaster is a gr8 way to introduce warm natural elements.. so you can create a "spa" feel and be ultra modern but different at the same time...
