Need help with remodeling a former indoor swimming pool room

Has awed bar in one corner, gives onto a terrace with 3 sets of French doors,. I'd like to add a fireplace and need to incorporate a billiard table.

Free standing baths are only suitable for larger rooms where you have the ability to position the bath with free access all the way round, I regularly remove them from smaller bathrooms when doing re-fits, people like the aesthetics of the free standing bath and plough ahead and install them against a wall, the result is a disgusting accumulation of dust, fluff, pubic hair etc, this will happen quite quickly and you will regret having gone down this route. The concept of having the bath with no curtain is interesting though, in a bathroom around 2.1m square, most of the bathroom will be effected by splashing, the room will need a wet room floor former, and will require that the whole room is tanked prior to tiling, have a look at. (http://www.wetroominnovations.com) I usually use their Maxus formers and Purus gully traps. you can indeed get a flexible waste connection, have a look at McAlpine "Flexcon" range, these are available through any reputable merchants, these are quite substantial and would stand up to semi regular movement, if your free standing bath is an acrylic bath it won't be too heavy, so moving it would be quite straight forward, but I would suggest having small felt pads on the feet to protect the tiled surface, also from a drying point of view, Karcher have a very good little gadget for cleaning windows, which vacuums up the water, I often mention it to clients and any who have bought one have been delighted at how easy it is to use, it will leave the floor almost dry once you have used it, one note of caution would be your choice of floor tile, you will need a porcelain tile that has an R rating, this is a slip resistant rating and would be most advised. another note of caution, because the splashing will not be controlled, any vanity or wood based furniture will deteriorate. Hello Tom, Yes sadly I have had experience with this... first of all my heart sank, it was getting late and nippy and I had just popped outside, shut the door and heard the "click" After sitting on the step waving my arms around, swearing at the top of my lungs and muttering at my idiocy. I decided that I could save the day... So off I went in search of friendly neighbours.... and more importantly their hangers... I decided rather ingeniously that I could fashion a hook to open the latch from the cat flap opening with the help of said hanger and my arm and body shoved up against the door and what I could fit through the cat flap, in painful and oddly fashion (which on obtaining hanger from friendly peeps down the road... I had opened out and created a loop..... I say ingeniously because shoving my head through the cat flap to a rather interested furry head and two eyes... saw how it could easily work and indeed it almost did! Problem was the latch was just that bit too heavy to spring open the door as planned... Swearing, tries, and more swearing and a arm nearly take out of it's socket endured for about half an hour... My cat did not lend a paw and so... heart sinking again.. I set off once again in search of friendly neighbours.... and their phone... This time however, they were closer to home and upstairs having some grub. A chap was called and a chat and an hour or so later... Someone arrived...... Well................ what was used was known as "The flexible friend" Yes folks........ The Barclaycard!... And no......... it wasn't mine by which to pay for his expertise, jiggery pokery, costly and lengthy tinkering and extensive toolkit!!!!.... It was in fact the tool kit!!!! 1 wave of it in the lock and "Open Sesame" my door sprang open, like it was never closed.. $**£%$3%!!!!! I grinned inanely whilst shuddering at the thought of it... My innocent smiles did not save me a buck (as thinking it was so easy, I would be "let off" without the fee)... Sadly I thought wrong.. I almost needed my Barclaycard to pay for it... So the moral of the story is this... When you're a spastic... just get the plastic!! ........(and then hide it in a plant pot, along with a snifter you'll need when the realisation hits that you've been had! :)) (The door in the story is no more!) :) )

forzaitalia is right , you need a specialist or two to answer your questions. Something to think about though, if you have a clear 20metre run by what will probably need to be 7metres wide,that is a huge space, if not and walls need to come out, then there will be some serious structural work to be done. The size you are considering will hold about 120 - 150 tons of water so the foundation and construction of the pool will need to be enough to support that, also depending on the area in which you live you may need a ground survey for any services that may be impacted by the work, you will need a survey of the property and foundation anyway to assess any impact such a construction may have on the property. A professional pool constructor should be able to answer all of those questions and probably some I haven't thought of.
