Heals don't appear to stock this. Is it the Henry table from John Lewis? Looks similar but the one in your photo is a darker wood.

On closer inspection I can see that this is not the Henry from John Lewis. The legs are broader and there is a vertical cut in the table legs. Would love to know the model and where to find it...

It looks very similar to the Naguchi Coffee table by Herman Miller.

I'd put the radiator towards the front door and the bench / side table opposite the opening for the living room, the opening for the room will give a visual of more space at that point.

Great minds think alike Carolina:) some great inspiration pics. Was just thinking about neighbours emergency access. How about a something like a half arch attached to the house wall. Think it will create a visual barrier but not a physical one and could be a lot cheaper in the short term. Long term I’d be looking at a gate which can accessed from both sides but big wooden gates don’t come cheap. Or how about western style saloon doors:) will probably need a catch to stop them flapping about in the wind...anyway, I’m just brainstorming. Gate at the bottom of the steps probably not necessary but I would think about one at the top of the steps if you plan to have any escape artist toddlers. Like you say the path is in your garden so a tall fence between path and lawn would spoil it imho. After all how often will your neighbor need to use the access. I’m rattling on. Here’s some more inspo pics for half arch/saloon doors. Would love to see your progress when you’ve done the fence. All the best.

If you were my client - I’d suggest you keep the dining table in the dining room - and have the island set a bit further away from perimeter cabinets - have a couple of perch stools to keep chef company and add slim tall storage all along that bottom wall .

Yes two rugs could work well in that room. The dining room rug needs to sized so that the chairs don't snag on it. So either big enough for all four legs of the chair to sit on or small enough that the back legs don't snag, but not so small that the front legs snag. Does that make sense? I would go with a flat weave for practical reasons. The indoor/outdoor rugs are very practical with kids. The sofa rug needs to be big enough for all the seating to be overlapping some part of it and a bit of it should stick out past the sofa towards the dining table but not so much that the bench catches on it. Because there's a walk way there I would again go for a flat weave. Something with a very low profile or at least a low profile edge. We have one in our hall and one in our living room, both are walked "over" i.e. you have to cross the entire rug to get to the other side. We've never had any accidents or trips, but if your worried then consider sticking down the edges that face the doors. Buy artwork in lockdown?! With all this free time? You just need some art supplies and a few Bob Ross videos! Anyway with all the painting you've done recently, artwork should be a piece of cake!
