POLL: What material will we see trending in 2016?
Comments (24)I agree with Sherbert I think we'll see even more metals. I also think more marble, including the rougher version, is it called leathered? In terms of textiles, I think we'll see lots of different knits. They have hit the clothes shops and you are starting to see more and more in interiors. From a personal perspective I would love concrete sinks etc and antiqued mirrors to really take off so the prices would come down!...See MoreMake our staircase different!
Comments (9)Hello ghesp, For seamless continuity paint the ends of the stairs white as per the rest of your woodwork.. Normally I'd say eggshell but you have gone with gloss.. So you could do the stair ends and then have a runner like your carpet pic at the bottom of your set of images.. I would keep the banisters white as this lends well to the scheme you have already.. Or if you want to introduce a bit of warmth strip the banister and don't paint the stair ends.. Here's two pics to show what I mean : ))...See MoreCan we make these items work together?
Comments (6)When you say some other materials what do you mean. As it's a dining room I'm a little limited as to what other materials I can have. The lights are ceramic and the chairs are fabric so thought that was a contrast. I do have the living room part at the other end of the room that will have a huge comfortable couch plus a rug. I am not a fan of rugs under dining tables from a practicality /hygiene point of view. The other lights I like are these. They are metal and have holes so a little light will come out. I would either paint them white (I paint for a living and these shades are only 27 pounds each so are worth upcycling!! I would need 7 of these. Or if paint them in pastel colours and do some upholstery in the chair tops with white frames. I LOVE the white with the wood. I don't want anything too traditional. I'm going for pendants with E 27 fitting so I can have LED lights brightest that I can. Thanks for responding.
