Retractable 'slide & hide' cupboard doors?

Not sure if this link will work! Does anyone know where we can get cabinet doors like these (or the fittings for them) where the doors open, pivot & slide back into the frame of the cabinet? Thanks.

Look for Hafele or Blum on the Internet.

Thanks Sort Our Stuff. I did find Hafele fixings when I did a Google search so it's good to hear you've recommended them too. I guess they're best left to a professional to fit?

Who else has a communal computer in their living room? When you have guests around and are entertaining, sometimes you just wish the computer, which is inevitably littered with pens/paper/random objects, would just disappear. Well with these cupboards it can do! And the overall effect is so subtle and seamless. Closet Space You don't have to own a wardrobe! Sometimes, a few carefully placed and well decorated shelves with a hanging rail can be just as good. The example below shows how you can be creative with storage space instead of, or in addition to, wardrobes. Bedroom TV These sliding wardrobe doors are a really great, neat way of hiding away the TV in your bedroom, whilst still incorporating drawers and making use of storage space. Whilst the image below shows quite a heavy example of bathroom storage, but getting some decent drawers in there and making use of the space under your sink/counter is well worth doing. Shan M - I never did do the brick slips in the end! I managed to salvage a wall to the side of the kitchen so ended up just painting the back kitchen wall in the same colour as the units (well itt's a different tone due to the paint finish) and it's quite dramatic and I love it. If I had done brick slips, they would have gone on afterwards and been fitted around the units to save money. retrospectively, the brick slips cost the same as a full brick and although the original builder said it would be cheaper to tile with slips rather than to build a brick wall, the actual bricklayer (after he finished the job) disagreed! He said he could have done block work up the units and bricked all the exposed areas. Probably would have cost the same as tilers are not cheap! Doh.

Tall larder and corner unit with pocket doors

From the picture, it looks like to me that larder was made up from a few standard components ...eg the 3 sets of drawers are probably 40cm wide, shallow depth base units, (such as Ikea’s 37cm deep Metod unit), plus a sink unit, and the top is made up of 3 similarly standard wall units without doors. The outer full size cabinet doors look like just standard tall cabinet doors set on sliding door pivot hinges. It’s just the way they have put them together that is “bespoke”, and that’s down to the designer and fitter. Hopefully that helps.

Just a quick update to this as we regularly get asked for this type of door; we specialise in luxury kitchen deign in Leamington, Stratford and Solihull, Warwickshire.

Hafele is a good, steady system which has been around for a while now. More recently quality Italian manufacturer Salice have launched an upgraded system called Exedra - in brief it's the 'Rolls-Royce' of slide-and-hide retractable pocket kitchen doors.

We recommend and wouldn't use another following our client feedback.
