what colour Compac quartz would look good with chalk shaker style unit

I love Compac quartz. What colour would best go with a chalk shaker style unit. the floor is a pale grey tile.I would like Carrara,but would it all look too white?

I think the Carrara would look fab. I'm a compac fan and have the White mirror in my kitchen. Go for it!

If a grey is made up of black + white it can be very cold. However, if a grey is a de-saturated grey of a colour such as Dakar or Lamp Room Grey then it can make things easier. I would opt for a floor that has some warmth, without a doubt. Don't forget, whatever you choose now may be with you for years, so I would avoid the 'obvious'. As the flooring is potentially one of the most expensive parts of the scheme, make that your focus. Grey units and white worktops will look cool, so you can afford to go for something warm with the floor. This could be tiles in a buff colour, tiles that are terracotta (I would bet money on these making a comeback), patterned tiles or wood. Mandarin Stone has some lovely buff concrete style tiles, Porcelanosa has amazing patterned tiles and Topps do one called Sculpt is a buff colour worth checking out.

River white granite is very similar to the splashback in the last photo.... the thing is we have in our mind to have a grey kitchen and everyone is saying you can't have all gray. our last house had alot of brown and beige, tan, cream etc, no one mentioned we needed gray to break that up LOL, and while I appreciate that those colours are warm, and gray and white are cool, this is an extremely warm and sunny house, lots of patio doors, often I think I've left a light on. So I think I can get away with gray and white without having to still drag brown in ..? If i add colour right. and by colour I mean red, teal, mustard... not brown! Which is a neutral IMO I think we will go ahead with the kitchen and leave the walls white for now and put floor samples down to decide.... then add accent colour organically.

Thanks guys, one of the comments a friend made got me doubting, saying they’d be hard to clean but one supplier said it wouldn’t be an issue as they weren’t porous as they were well sealed so I assumed that if I sealed everything after grouting they’d be ok... Nevertheless a question mark about clashing styles got me wondering about whether it was worth it! Don’t want to go for plain boring white ordinary tiles though... as such I was wondering if I went that route whether grey grouting would add more interest or if I should go for a pearlescent craquelure look or am I just getting further away from a current cohesive look? Help!

Hi Poppy, Regarding the mantle shelf, they are usually painted the same as the furniture, so it connects everything. I understand to think of it, its seems like a stripe but it does work. Also to help with the dark kitchen cabinets, you definitely need a colour to add the depth and give balance. White will be too stark I would think and as another option to the Purbeck direction, you could try something like Skylight that works amazingly well with Railings Good luck and post a picture of what you choose.
