Comments (20)Hello, You could mount mirror to cupboard doors and this way you would have both you wanted to have. Remember that there is no project that can't be achieved and with a great design you can have what you desired for! Light installation would also help but in my opinion mirror would look amazing, combined together with your contemporary style Kitchen. Comments (9)Hi, What a lovely room! Love the windows and the ceiling height. I would go for a sofa and chair(s) on legs (swooneditions), so you can see the floor under it. Perhaps a wooden/LVT woodlook floor; herringbone or laid widthwise, both will make the room look wider. An eye catching chandelier (westelm) would be great. Comments (9)You would need to post the dimensions of the whole thing, so that we can see how wide the alcove is. Do you mean this type of arrangement? Depending on where you kitchen comes to, you should have room for a 220cm long table, which when pushed against the wall, or integrated at the end of the units would provide enough room for 3 dining chairs across one side and a chair at the end. How do you like these kitchen ideas? Also, are you going for contemporary kitchen style? An industrial style kitchen can be quite minimal and clutter free. A good shelf system would work just the same way as cabinets, however it would still remain functional and stylish.

You are most welcome! I collected some more images with shelving ideas. On the right hand side of the kitchen you could add some shelves too if you don't wish to add cabinets but still need storage space.

8 years agoWe were confronted with similar limitations on a project last year. We achieved a layout which I believe optimises the space available. The distance between the kitchen units was 85-90cm. Please see project here.
I believe the key area to address with a small kitchen are:
storage - favour drawers opposed to doors and explore which internal storage solutions suit your needs
lighting - ensure all areas of the kitchen are well-lit
worksurface - provide as large an area as possible; induction hobs and undercount sinks with integrated drainer grooves help
handleless door/drawer fronts - if a modern kitchen, I'd suggest going for handleless to avoid catching
plinth - repeat the same flooring material as plinth to give the illusion that the base units are floating
gaps - avoid; build in units wherever possible - cleaning within the tight space will otherwise be cumbersome
